Had the original launch 60 GB, it lasted for about 2 years. Then the laser went out that switches from the DVD to Blu-Ray. Went for about another 2 years and I just got the YLOD a month ago. So I sent it into Sony and they do a exchange for a 120GB Slim for $150. :) But the crappy part..... I lost all my oblivion, dragon age and red dead game data. Call of Duty takes to seconds to beat so no sweat on that lol.

So I just got the YLOD when I came back from vacation for 5 days and it was workin just fine before I left. (Doesnt make much sense to me) I have the launch 60 Gig version and I already sent the thing in once cause the laser went out. That was back in Feb of 09, I would like to know if my warranty for that is still good and Sony should fix it for free?? Help please, Thanks.

I asked a few other people about my problems with them system and they said that the first models of the PS3 were a little off. The Blu-Ray player starts goin out. I guess they fixed it on the later models but the first ones were doomed to begin with. I think any 60 Gig should get sold back for a new one. I didnt pay 600 dollars for a crappy machine.
