Other than the load times, I'm not all that impressed. If Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 REALLY IS realeased for the platform, I'll buy one.

There is only one franchise I know of that weaves plausible (somewhat) narratives in their fare. UBIsoft may have peaked with Far Cry 5, as a total experience. That game, if you're paying attention, is CREEPY. I hope FC6 can top it though.

I suspect this title is Xbox vaporware. At this point, the ONLY incentive I have to purchase a Series X would be if this title was bundled with it. Too bad...

The video game industry may have a "Perfect Storm" surprise, this holiday season. We have some of the brightest minds developing cutting edge technology. We also have thousands of programmers, striving to create the most beautiful scenes we can imagine...

Unfortunately, we DON'T seem to have creative geniuses to imagine fresh, new worlds and situations to explore and conquer. What's more "edutainment" seems to have fallen by the wayside. I'm not interested in yet another Final Fantasy or Rainbow 6 Siege. While I'm certain that there actually ARE creative geniuses out there, perhaps they're constrained? I would encourage Microsoft and Sony to seek out new talent. Microsoft and their "Indie" games is a start.

It is quite possible we are on the brink of the next video game crash, like the early 1980s. I may or may not obtain a next gen console. I've got my original Day One Xbox One that's in storage, while I play my refurbished Xbox One. If the Xbox Series X had at least Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, I could justify it. I seriously doubt it will have the horsepower to pull it off...even though Microsoft was advertising it for the XB1.

So, the bottom line - There won't be ANYTHING FRESH with the next gen consoles. Market correction here we come!

@CBTDesigner: It depends how they design it. They could use the Azure cloud in a more effective way on Series X for a start. There is just one spec for that machine so it's possible to just make the game a certain way to perform a certain way. They could lock it to 30 fps at 1440p upscaled to 4k for instance.

It's harder to factor in all the PC builds for this game and the various processors and GPU's in the PC space. I think the Series X would be a godsend to the team to release the game on by comparison.

I don't think it would look as good as a high end PC version for the simple reason that Series X will only have 16GB total system Ram anyway.

i am not being a PC elitist with that comment either just factoring in that PC's with 32GB ram are running this best at the moment.

I am sure things will improve over time on PC with patches anyway.

You make some good points and it's a foregone conclusion there will be sacrifices made. I will be happy with HD visuals, as opposed to 4k. I live in a rural area, without high speed internet. This game will be out of my reach... :(

I'm thinking the Xbox version may be vaporware...or a launch title for the series x. If the tech requirements for PCs are strained now by the game, I don't see how the Xbox One can handle them.

I fell for the "Day One" edition XBOX One. Never again. Microsoft (or any other console manufacturer) is going to have to prove they're worth it, for me to upgrade.

Myself, I'm looking for a new experience, not a political diatribe.

Although I'm not averse to decisions that result in consequences, they'd better have a human element - not a political one. Bioshock was incredible in numerous ways, not the least of which was whether to kill little girls or let them live. It's visceral not political.

I'm weary of Trump/GOP/Democrats/Libertarian exhortations. I'll focus on that stuff during elections/council meetings and the like.

I'm hoping The Outer Worlds brings something new, while having us make choices that will affect the outcome of the game...

I just HOPE it doesn't turn out like Fallout 76 - Hyped to an excessive degree but an egregiously flawed product.
