My mom loved old school games like pacman and centipede and even owned an atari in the 70's and had a nes in the 80's. She thinks today's games are too violent/complicated

My dad doesn't seem to care about them at all

So my friend sits next to an anime fan and noticed her drawing anime. He asked if we could look through it because they were pretty good looking. But as we got farther into it we started seeing these very homosexual drawings of boys together. At this point we were freaked out.

Why the heck does she do this? Am I the only one out there or have you encountered these people in person and saw their socalled artwork.

What you saw is called "shounen-ai" or "boy's love" Many female anime fans like to imagine 2 of their favorite male characters together in a romantic relationship. Weird, I know.

My dad bought a new Denon AVR-2310CI receiver so that he could use my ps3 to watch blu-ray movies via hdmi and get the full sound he wants out of his surround sound system while eliminating the use for an optical cable. The ps3 is connected to the reciever by a hdmi cable, and the reciever is connected to a fairly old sony lcd tv using a hdmi cable and hdmi adaptor ( the tv didn't have hdmi inputs, only dvi, so it has a dvi hdmi adaptor).

Our problem is that when we go to the ps3's audio settings, we choose hdmi, then automatic, then we get a message saying "This hdmi device cannot be used for audio output." The receiver seems to be set up right, as it gets sound when watching normal channels on tv. Can anybody help with this problem? The video works great, however there is no audio.

What happens when you try "automatic" rather than "manual?"

filfili

My mistake, I meant to say "automatic" in my first post, not manual. When I chose "automatic", I got the message "This hdmi device cannot be used for audio output"

You may want to talk to the guys in the audio/video forum. They may know more about this particular receiver and your problem in general.

Yeah I guess I'll try that

its possible when u convert an hdmi signal to dvi it only works for video because dvi input is only good for video and not audio

u prob have to connect an optical cable from ps3 to receiver to get sound

fedor19820

But the thing is the audio isn't supposed to go to the tv, it's supposed go from the reciever to the surround sound speakers. The tv is set up so it only does video, not audio

Higurashi no naku koro ni. This one wierded/creeped me out

gameguy6700

I've heard of that one and I really want to see it, but from what I hear it's only a visual novel, right? While I don't have anything against VNs (I've played Clannad and Chaos;Head) they tend to be really hard to obtain much less obtain and get a translation.

There isn't just a visual novel. There are 2 seasons of the anime along with an ova currently going on

Have tried an HDMI? Whats it look like while watching a movie??

doesntcare

When I'm using hdmi, it looks fine. However it's is connected to the surround sound system and I use it only for when I watch movies. For gaming I use the component cables, which is connected to the tv directly, so I don't have to worry about overusing the surround sound speakers
