doesnt look impressive at all. The fact it's Vista only and doesnt support DX10 makes we :S "why the hell make it a Vista only title? you'll sell a lot more copies then and no, Halo 2 wont make people buy Vista, cause the people that want to play got a Xbox". Maybe if they tune the combat a lot, it might be a worthy shooter for the PC. I remember playing Halo on the PC... god that was horrid, can't believe it's was so high rated. Anyway: NOT INTERESTED!!!
This is indeed a kick in the teeth for us europeans/aussies/etc. Definatly comes as a: oh noes, what about my Kingdom Hearts 2 and FF XII i still have to play? Now i hear you say: you bought those games without having a PS2? Well... thing is, by brother owns the PS2 and takes it to his military station (yes we works in the army). So now i can only play in weekends, therefor i was hoping the PS3 would speed that up for me. I am one of those people that are totally excited about the PS3's future, yet if these things keep happening... only the PC platform will remain for me. Reminds me... i still got to buy a HDTV for the PS3... damn you PS3, you better be worth my money!!! (though titles like motorstorm, MGS4, FF XIII, Assassins Creed and Heavenly sword will guarantee atleast a few good games, so not all hope is lost.... yet)
my top 10 for 2007 would like like: (in random order) - Bioshock - Crisis - Heavenly sword (is that 2007 release? ) - Assassin's creed - Guild Wars Chapter 4 - Metal Gear Solid 4 - Unreal tournament 2007 - Half-life 2 Episode 2 - Stalker - Quake Wars yes i (will) play PS3 and PC only, a big shooter fan, love action adventure, addicted to GW.
i bought myself a new PC 2 months ago: 2 gig dual channel 400mhz RAM Geforce xfx7900 GT amd 3800+ dual core my machine runs everything with ease (use 1280x1024 as resulion due to my LCD screen). the difference between GT and GTX might be some, but it makes up in price. Even though DX10 will require a new graphics-card (to get the new stuff) the old graphics-cards will still function. As long as my system runs the game fine, there is no need to buy a new one.
As a proud Dutch i can say that... i dont really care that it's delayed. The only bad thing about this delay is that we get the console later. It's likely that the PS3 will still have some bugs at launch or broken PS3s. Once we europeans get our turn, it's likely that it has been solved. Personally i have the xbox and xbox360 because nothing makes those consoles unique, well.. ok maybe halo (which SUCKS on PC). For the rest i dont see xbox360 being that great... and it's not really next gen either (graphics dont make games unless you use them). The price tag doesnt bother me either, i have (unlike many other europeans) enough money saved to spend on things that i like. And i know that im going to like the PS3, not for the graphics (have to buy a HD-TV first) but purely for the already known good games: FF and MGS to name 2 already awesome games in the making (unless they totally screw up somehow). The Wii might have all that new controller, but that doesnt make games better, if your aiming for everyone to play your console, you will lose many gamers because it doesnt pose a challenge. Im not a PS fan-boy, i just love the FF and MGS series and for me, those are enough reasons to buy a PS3.
i just bought a new PC and all, but im not worried. DX10 games will run on DX9 aswell, but you'll miss some performance/graphics. No biggy to me (vista will take about a year to come out anyway). Im really looking forward to the PS3, i think it has the most potential and has a great line of games that I PERSONALLY like. Also guitar hero 2, i wanna rock out more even though i havent got passed hard in guitar hero 1.
Games i should atleast try: 1. World of Warcraft For some reason, i just dont want to play it. Be it because it's Warcraft (i played the RTS games) or im just afraid of giving up every other game i have... anyway, i should, but probably wont. 2. Prins of Persia: The Two Thrones Saw my brother play sands of time, but though... meh. When i played Warrior Within, i was sold. For some reason i never played it's follower... wonder why... 3. Half-life 2 I think it's fear of not liking it as much as i liked half-life 1, but i hear it's totally worth it. Maybe ill play it when my new rig comes, then everything will be at maximum :D. 4. Final Fantasy VII I tried playing the game in 2005, but it was just too horrid to look at (considering i played 8,9,10,10-2). I know this is where all it's glory comes alive, but yet have to play it. 5. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater I played 1 & 2, which were both amazingly sweet, but still havent checked out this one... why? God knows!
