Alright, here is a pc I have planned out, keep in mind I'm trying to keep costs low.
I mainly just want to know how this pc will run games such as CoD4/5, modern warfare 2(guesses?), CSS, planetside(if any of you know anything about it), Medieval 2 total war, BF2. Please answer that instead of suggesting a bunch of new parts...Thanks
Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 2.80ghz
4gb DDR2 800mhz
250gb HD 7200RPM
Gigabyte EP-UD3L Mobo
Gigabyte Radeon HD 4670 512mb
XP Home SP3
Cooler Master Sileo 500
500w PSU
Monitor around 17-19" probably, haven't chosen one yet but I'm pretty sure I won't be going higher than 19' lcd widescreen
Also, will having an ATI card with an intel mobo and processor be an issue at all?
[/QUOTE I have the e7400, 4 Gb ram, and HD4850 and it runs everything I throw at it on high, crysis one setting below the max runs very smooth. From your list the only game we have in common is COD4, which plays great on my setup using max settings. It is a better GPU than the 4670, but you should be fine with that card as well.

Thanks man, good to know.

Another option: Some motherboards have built-in WiFi functionaliy. That would eliminate any need for PCI or USB adapters.

Do those work a lot better than PCI or USB adapters?
USB adapters do seem easier to use, but from what I've read on other sites they seem to be a lot less reliable and consistent compared to PCI adapters.
I actually found this USB wireless adapter in my basement that we bought a few years ago. My only experiance with it is on a REALLY old and crappy pc a few years ago, so I'm not sure how well it works...I'm pretty sure it's this- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124126
Anyone know anything/have experiance with that particular adapter?
Also, when you say wireless, do you mean wireless peripherals (keyboard and mouse) or wireless internet? BlackHawk a wireless PCI adapter should be okay. You can get adapters and routers that are designed to be very low latency but you'll be spending quite a bit of money and probably replacing stuff you already have. For most cases I'd say your standard router and PCI card will do fine.Marfoo
I have a pretty good router system set up I think because I use wireless on my xbox 360 and that runs very smoothly most of the time. If I get a good signal with the 360 wireless adapter, will my pc with a PCI wireless adapter do just as good? I wish I could be directly connected, but I'd have to run an ethernet cord up the stairs and I'm pretty sure my parents would nix that... :P
I'd also like to know what the best wireless solution is as I'm getting a custom pc built soon and most likely will be using wireless. I plan on getting a PCI wireless adapter installed..
Are there 2 different versions of this card? Sometimes I see it labled as "PNY XLR8 GeForce 9800GTX+" and others are just "PNY GeForce 9800GTX+"
XLR8: http://www.topreviewshop.com/pny_xlr8_geforce_9800gtx
No XLR8: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133246
However, the one on newegg still says "XLR8" on the actual card.
Also, the one on newegg shows the fan on the left...which seems like it would blow air into the computer, not out. The other one shows the fan on the right.
