What type of class is this, and how are you addressing property law?
Right now, that sounds clunky. If you want an "attention grabber", then maybe start with something that's actually related to the speech.
Say, for example, you were trying to persuade the audience on how the property laws need an overhaul because the complexity is making it difficult for people to pay their property bills which leads to foreclosures (dumb premise but I'm making this up on the spot).
You would start with a shocking statistic like (again, making this up):
"Every four hours a family loses its home. Women and children are being thrown onto the streets. The main cause of all this unnecessary homelessness? The overly complex property laws that are raising taxes and fees well beyond the point at which most families are capable of paying. Today, I, Bim, and my colleagues, Zach, Tim, and Big-Booty Burtha, are going to tell you how these laws are negatively affecting the lives of millions of Americans, and how a few simple changes can cause a lot of these problems to simply vanish."
