@Mecamatt Mines is with Game Informer and sometimes 1up (Made so many friends there). IGN is alright but their site is cluttered with ads, which is why I like GI so much. Nice and clean site with good reviews and frequent bloggers.

My answer to the question is yes, but, we need bring awareness to people about the dangers of buying these games for your kids. Careless parents need to be made aware of the hidden danger of letting video games raise your kids/using games as distractions. I also think developers should be more responsible when it comes to the violent content they decide to put in their games. With all this new hardware blurring the bounderies between fiction and reality graphically, I think they need to tone down the realism of the gore in games. I remember when Duke Nukem receieved a lot of flack in the 90's due to content in his games...

Duke is remarkably tame compared to some of the games out now.

This was a great read Tom...

Like you said in the article, I don't think it can be proven that violent video games induce mass murder sprees. But, I don't think anyone would disagree with games being more 'graphic' than they were in the past. Some of the violence in games like God and Gears of War can be overwhelmingly and pointlessly violent. Some gamers argue too passionately on behalf of violent games. In my opinion, I think it's selfish. That type of debate does nothing but support the stigma that's unfairly forced on anyone that considers themself a gamer -- That we're narcissistic, antisocial jerks that indulge themselves in the hobby so much that we could careless about what's going on outside ourselves. To me, the argument isn't 'do video games make people murderers?', it's 'should we allow purpose-less violence in games to be marketed/sold?'.

Ports will always look worse on the PS3 unless is primarly made for the console and ported down. These ports is developed primarly for 360 and ported up. The only game that wasn't was Dragon Age(PC) and it looked better but they say it didn't run smooth. Ports don't define a system though, exclusives is where it's at for the PS3. So even though the ports seem to suck on the PS3, the exclusives make up for it in my opinion...

If you're putting your effort/creativity into ANYTHING that ends up representing the effort that you or your team put into it, rather it visual or mental(poetry), it still represents Art because it represents you or how you felt at the time, and it could be appreciated by a wide audience.....Or it could be Superman 64
