Fot the past 10 years,there is no speaker connected to my pc on my desk. There is only a good headset. It does the job far better then speakers.

When in sleep mode, the pc consume very litttle energy. So no, keep what you are doing. In the long run, you will get more computing time than your freind (faster boot time)

Like Rick_Sure said, try older version of the driver. But i really think that the BSOD is c aused by the vid card itself.

You forgot to include smartphone support. While you're at it, why not support; Xbox, Xbox360, PlayStation, PS2, PS3 and WII?

Kinect and its games can rot in hell for all I care. I never beleive in the idea of doing the monkey in front of my tv set to play game.

There is only 2 options;

1) The drive id dying.

2) The media is deffective.

screw that what about the prior to service pack 2 bugs? if i recall there was one that basically cause you to re-install windows/run a backup

On Wndows Vista? Can't say i remember. I have been using Vista since it came out. Never had a problem with it. That is why i do not understand this complaining against Vista.

Now i am using Windows 7 and in a couple of years, i will probably switch to Windows 8.
