Yea more cache always = better loading times.beefdog
yes but i doubt by much, an RPM increase would be better i hope SSD's hurry up and get damm cheaper because they will make everything on PC load so much faster!!!! but anyway i havent even used up my 320GB got about 177GB left so your 640GB will be more than enough go with more cache :P

right the drivers you used were 8.12 correct? also are you using a 5200+ single core AMD processor or dual core? if its a single your serverly limiting the card your using which is why you get no where near the review results even if its a dual core the AMD ones are a bit behind there intel equals and i assume 5200 is around 2.4ghzish which isnt too high for that processor so again it will be limiting you quite a bit to get the best out of your card your ideally going to want a 3ghz AMD dual core or an intel dual core at around 2.6ghz as to not limit the GPU, for best results you want to be above 3ghz or with a quad core but anyway what is your complete setup ram, hard drive speed, cpu speed, etc what game are you trying to run, what are your settings roughly, how many FPS do you get averagely?

back again i have managed to extend the life of fallout 3 so crashes are generally 30minutes apart im not joking when i have tried everything! yes i have looked at the stickies the only thing i havent tried is installing a codec pack like k-lite i do not have any codes installed by me outside of the default ones would installing the k-lite make it work someone did say to install it on another forum? anywho i will not try it unless someones says as i guess its a large file and a bit of hassle i did however see that there will be another patch for PC on the bethesda forum posted on the 15th of december likely to come out in January i really do hope it fixes my problem as now fallout 3 is unbearable and i really wana play it!

dont get me wrong game is actually immense which is why its annoying me so much that every 2mins it decided to crash crash crash before it was alrite didnt seem to crash or only after a long time but it became more frequent until it started getting down into 10mins or less today, i have tried everything, i have all the latest drivers, hard drive is defragged, i used tweakguides to optmise it which actually stopped stuttering but didnt solve the fact it was crashing, yes its been updated i have reinstalled and tried it before update, i have a soundblaster so i tried stereo i also tried getting alchemy and enabling the game which made it sound better but did not solve crash, i made pagefile much larger and tried it off to NO affect, oh an i also took of my gpu overclock on my 4850 from 700/2.2 down to default so 625/1.9 and turned off superfetch!!!! it really is annoying me to the max!!!!! why does it suddenly become more frequent the crashes, i just dont get it, it needs another patch, i dont have any other problems with my games and i have exhausted every possibility arghhhhhh, any other suggestions?

Not at all.Your CPU is pretty damn good.

Your graphics card is the limiting factor.Get a better one and only then think about getting a quad core.

mm tbh i would wait until the amd phenom 2's come out hopefully then the core i7 will drop get the cheapest one and overclock it your only wasting money if you buy the Q9650 when a few months down the road you could have an i7 i mean i guess you do have to get a new mobo and DDR3 triple channel mmmm im not sure really you decide!
