I spend about 4 months researching and waiting for the right deal when I do buy parts and recently I've been SLOWLY trying to customize a hp pavilion dv7. Anyways, I'd suggest a desktop but if you must go with a laptop, then know this. For video processing, editing or multimedia in general, I suggest the 2nd gen Intel i5 2500. Its cheap for being next gen and its pretty nice. For gaming and extreme stability, I'd suggest Llano at this moment in time. Head to head, Intel takes AMD on single game performance but if you Crossfire the processor's graphics with the graphics installed on the actual motherboard (this is when using a laptop), you're gonna be happy you went AMD. As far as graphics enhancement goes, AMD has your back. Intel 2nd gen does support graphics enhancement but it's pretty obvious they made these chips with Apple computers in mind. It is, afterall, a cash cow.

Direct to Drive is a great concept. Its easy (can be fast based upon the speed of your internet) and offers a selection that you might not find elsewhere. Of course its also better than buying multiple copies because you need to transfer it to another computer.

Oh trust me before i start this explanation, i have gone to the PS3 network forums to no avail. For me the update didn't affect my problem at all. I try to connect to games and it just puts me in a game by myself and no one else can join it. I have had this problem since i got my PS3 and i'm not sure what the deal is. It's extremely frustrating and i am hoping to get some help.

I got my PS3 at launch and imported 2 DS3s as soon as could. I really don't think I'd like to have waited. Way too many good games to play.CellAnimation

Agreed. i got one imported just about 10 minutes ago =)

Well, While the first game wasn't spectacular it was solid, just didn't live up to the halo killer hype it was labeled with. The second one got attention first because of the name and the follow through hype of the first title. Combine that with the ridiculous graphics they showed at E3 2005, followed by all the controversy about the trailer and then another good showing at E3 07 and the rumoured $21+ budget Sony is spending, and you get a lot of talking.

On top of that, it has such message board buzz because both camps (sony and MS) point to it as either a killer app or a massive flop. So it generates a lot of talk and therefore hype.

thageneral3

they spent 21 dollars?! they're gunna have to cut some stuff out then.

They might have to abandon the project since its too costly.

Are you sure its MGS that has to sell a million in a day or Kz2. sheesh!!

IMO pokemon diamond. But rly...1 million copies? Halo 3 sold somewhere around 400k in a day. How is MGS gonna beat that? Over half the PS3 owners in the world, quite literally, would have to buy it.

Well i mean the first one was okay but i just want to know if that one was the way it was why is the latest one getting such a big buzz? im not saying it will be bad, im sure it has as good a chance as any game to be great but what has changed this time around that is causing such hype all things considered?

btw i havent been able to read anything on this because for some reason my internet explorer browser closes down everytime i open up something withthe word"killzone" in it, does anybody know wtf is going on there? lol

Rappitfire_CQ

Killzone 2 will be the best FPS the PS3 has to offer. The game has ben in production for almost three years now and as u can see has Next-GenHD Graphics(better than GOW)with some really cool looking enemies(the Helgast).

Lets not get ahead of ourselves Rappit. Remember these systems still have a good 4-5 years or more to go before they are outdated. I dont think we can fully expect the best FPS to come out of killzone if we havent seen other titles to come. Ill say it has been a huge undertaking and from what ive seen i like it, but there are never any garentees.

[QUOTE="BarkLikeADog"]Well i must say KZ2 is being hyped a little. But definantly not a lot. Now you can say there is too much hype but i work at Gamestop and we haven't got ads for it or anything. The problem with titles these days is there is just too much hype for them and it doesnt live up to it. A game gets a lot of advertising and it means the company is nervous. A game has one or two ads in the entirety of the store and they are in the clear. I think businesses have too many older people in them. No one to tell them "Hey your game is gonna suck, stop production." henry4th

10 Million dollars went into Halo3's marketing. That's overhyping a game. Even NPR's reporters know the name Halo 3, although they know nothing about gaming.

Killzone2? I haven't seen a new trailer or a commericial or anything for a long time, Id on't know how it's even over hyped at all?

Yea thats true but remember halo 3 is known also because it had 2 other games before it. Never mind the fact its a garbage game. I sold my 360 shortly after its release and got a PS3 because i felt it was such a disgrace. Now i must admit i am excited about killzone 2 but as for the customers i serve...not even a single word.

I think what you should do is make the decision for yourself. Forget the hype. Forget the console war. Buy whatever makes you happy.
