Call of Duty will have more games than Final Fantasy at this rate.

Why are people saying prices would drop if the used game market was gone? I see digital copies on the PSN store that are 20 dollars more than if you bought the physical copy.

Point is moot.

@2bitSmOkEy I'm trying to make people realize that these companies aren't your buddies, and showing any kind of loyalty to them is just plain silly. They seem to think that the majority of the profits would got to the developers. No. No it wouldn't. The greedy publishers, you know, the amazing companies such as EA would get that money.

So go ahead and kill the used games market. Your favorite company in the world EA will get alllll that dough. :)

I don't really care if the developers get the money or go bankrupt, and I doubt most people that play video games do. They buy the game because it looks cool and entertains them, period. They give no thought on who made the game, what their names are and such, I'm speaking in general here. Places like gamespot are the minority. They see us as walking dollar bills and I see them as tools that are necessary to fill my entertainment hours. If they go under, oh well. Plenty of games out there already to play. You may think "How can you say that! They need to put food on the table as well"! True, but then again, they chose to be game developers. They see us as nothing but money signs, they wouldn't care if we went homeless and such, so I ask, why do you care what profits they make? Are you a shareholder? an investor? Anyway, for me personally I have more than enough games to last me a life time. No skin off of my nose if the industry goes belly side up. I wouldn't really care.

Bottom line, I'm the consumer, if you do things that I don't agree with, then I say very well and move on with my day. Your business and its profits are not my problem nor concern. They better do whats better for the people than for whats better for their profit.

Hey, they see us as money dispensers, why can't I see them like tools? :)

Thank you. Took the words right out of my mouth. I don't really care if the developers get the money or go bankrupt. They see us as walking dollar bills and I see them as tools that are necessary to fill my entertainment hours. If they go under, oh well. Plenty of games out there already to play.

I'm going to go ahead and say it. I hope the gaming industry crashes and falls flat on its face like it did in the 80s, but this time, for different reasons obviously. I have more than enough games to last a lifetime anyway, I don't care if new ones aren't being made on a regular bases or at all.

I want this to happen, because it is the only way these companies will learn.

@RedLegZeff @Baldurs_Gate200 True, I guess what I'm getting at, is that from a consumers point of view, its really dreary, and its making the next generation of consoles look pretty bleak compared to before. I mean, buying the game new or used, taking it home, popping it in the machine. I mean, that works right? From a consumer stand point that is.

I honestly don't care about the businesses, they don't care about us if we lose our job or some such, yet a lot of people try to show some loyalty to them.

Chaining games to the internet only is a very bad move. I don't want my game stopping before I save if I'm in the middle of playing a single player game because its chained to the internet, and my service provider isn't up to snuff that day. Honestly, how do people justify this?

@emptycow @Baldurs_Gate200You miss the principal completely. It isn't just about gamestop and the used games market. Its about these companies pretty much telling you what you can and what you cant do with a product in which you purchase. You seem like a child, probably born after 1996 I'm guessing. So you don't have a firm grasp and are probably naive and can't tell when a company is trying to screw you. You might as well say "Automobile industry should stop selling used cars".

Notice how the gaming industry is the only industry that whines about this? Can you imagine if blue rays and DVD movies had serial keys? Yeah, bet you'd be all for that.

You probably believe its all there to prevent piracy as well, lol.

But really, you say that now, but what if you have a friend that has a game that you want to try? You can't borrow and play it on your own time because the system blocks games. These companies have more than enough money as it is, the used market isn't hurting the industry like everybody claims that it is. These companies sit on piles, and piles of money. Using used game sales is a cop out. They are getting A LOT of money back, just not AS much as before. Its pure greed. I highly advise you learn how to read between the lines.

About the PC thing, yeah thats true , but then again, PC and Consoles are different markets. We are talking about systems that lock your game to THAT console, and hey, if you like playing single players games that have choppiness and lag if your internet starts acting up that day, then thats your choice. But hey, if you're all for your single player games being chained to the net like Diablo 3 is, have fun friend.

Greed greed and more greed. Whats new in the world of humans and the exchange of goods and services?

Anyway, if this comes to pass on every system, then I shall be done with modern gaming. Retro would be the way to go from then on out, or any system that doesn't do such things such as this.

Peace.

@Pedro_Fayad People like you are the reason I don't visit gaming communities often. It is that level of elitism that is immature in itself. They are only video games, another form of entertainment. Who cares what preference other people have. I like anything from God of War, to Ninja Gaiden and I play a wide variety of games from the NES to the modern era. I even play Mario and Kirby games still.

Labels like "hardcore gamer" and "casual gamer" are just so silly and petty because it is so subjective to what those terms mean. I cringe when people use them. Playing certain types of games doesn't make you better than anyone else, and if you think that then I feel sorry for you, I really do.

By the way, I mainly play games on easy, casual or the normal setting. Sue me :P

By the way, I don't care for the DMC games myself, but I might check this out and play it on the casual setting if I decide to buy it. :)

Take care.
