It's not a mistake. Let our hardware editor know if you'd like to see the DS resource center updated. No guarantees of course, but he needs to know what people value so he can budget his time accordingly.

@doktron: You might try right-clicking on the download links and choosing "Save Link As" (or similar -- text varies depending on browser).

The problem has been identified. Hoping to have it fixed by the end of the week.

@smetloos: Can you please provide a link and also let us know which browser/OS you're using? This will help us track down the problem.

We actually plan to roll out the new Follow functionality used in E3 to the entire site (which includes bigger buttons). Not sure when it will go out, but it's in the works. :)

@Abstractthinker: I would believe the Live Cam's page before the schedule. Reason being that the Live Cam's page is tied directly to show data, but they seem consistent to me, so it's possible you just happened to hit the page while they were updating them.

The "Getting Started" features are new and currently only cover those three.

The PSP and PC have what we call Hardware Resource Centers. Respectively: http://www.gamespot.com/console-resource/psp/index.html and http://www.gamespot.com/console-resource/pc/index.html

The DS has a much more basic gallery of info: http://www.gamespot.com/showcases/nintendo-dsi

Our hardware editor writes the content for those features, so if there's something missing that you feel is worth adding, let him know.

@thom_maytees: We're currently using HTML 5 tags to display videos for the iPad in the following places: gamespaces, Today on the Spot archives, videos in the E3 environment, and the E3 archive videos (press conferences, stage show, etc., as they become available). We are not able to stream live video at this time, so you'll have to wait for an archive.

Despite all the hype surrounding the HTML5, there are numerous challenges to implementing it. As one of the foremost thinkers in HTML 5 said, "Support for the video element is still evolving, which is a polite way of saying it doesn't work yet." Just because Apple's screaming it from the rooftops doesn't make it so. Remember: Apple is attempting to re-gain some video market share by proclaiming their adherence to various web standards, but make no mistake: Apple only supports the standards that it wants to -- which is, in fact, not true standards compliance.

One of the struggles I faced in implementing this tag is environmental; I can't tell whether a user is connecting via Wi-fi or WAN (AT&T). This drastically affects the video stream quality because, for example, we currently produce only two video streams that the iPad can play, and the higher-resolution video is roughly three times the filesize, which, for a typical Today on the Spot episode, is 350+MB. It's unreasonable to attempt to stream a video of that size over a WAN network, but perfectly fine for Wi-fi. For now, we're sticking to a low-res stream for safety, but you can play the H.264 stream (the link is in the Downloads panel) if you'd like.

In any case, this is just the beginning of HTML5 – for us and everyone else.

Here's an extensive write-up on HTML 5's video implementation; hopefully you can appreciate the complexities involved in its implementation. http://diveintohtml5.org/video.html

@osadeghi: We're aware of the issue. Expect to have it fixed next week.
