Do you really get to choose? I highly doubt it, Metroid isn't really a "customise your controls" type of game.

Judging by the previous games, I think that shoot will be mapped to the A button, why? Because if it is set to the B button it will feel more like a regular FPS, which it isn't. Plus, if the shooting mechanics are the same as the previous games, it will feel a lot better to spam attacks with a thumb rather than a trigger finger.

1 press= 1 bullet. If you hold it down it charges, and I don't know about you guys but it's a lot easier to tap my thumb quickly than my trigger finger.

This game is likely to appear on XBOX 360 since most reviewers are being to harsh on Nintendo Wii games.

Pierst179

I don't really think they're being harsh, but fair. I remember I was listening to a podcast from way before the Wii was released, and Matt Cassimasina was talking about how they were going to rate Wii games and how much of a problem it could be. Because if they rated the early games too high, what happens when the significantly better games come out? Simply giving them higher scores isn't really the best way to go, and giving the same score suggests that they have only changed very few, if anything around to make it better, instead it's just the same stuff with a different  story.

So far I think that reviewers have given the games that deserve them got reasonable scores.

No, I really don't think that we'll be seeing a perfect 10 this generation...or in the next generation.

The thing is, that with all of these new consoles, they all have this untapped power, and unless developers actually are able to use all of the power, there isn't going to be a perfect 10 for a LONG while. And by a LONG while I mean that so far into the future that the graphics jump from one generation to the next is so insignificant that developers should be able to keep developing off of their original titles, instead of building new engines.

THAT's how the Wii should have been taken care of in the first place, but so far we haven't seen ANYTHING surpass Resident Evil 4. In fact, I don't think there are any games on the Wii that couldn't be graphically done on the Gamecube. None of the Wii games even look like good gamecube games, just average **** on versions....sans Twilight Princess, but that's just a GC port anyways, so that was expected. Look at Xbox 360, Look at Ps3, I see plenty of games on those consoles that just could possibly be done on their previous respective consoles.

This doesn't apply only to graphics either. Just overall power in general. Look at how the controllers have evolved, look at how we view sound and music and the effects it all has on us as we play games. We can't downplay any of these aspects and expect to get AAAA games. Just as new control inputs contribute to good games, there are a bunch of other factors that are developed every day that need to be taken into consideration. Like Online gaming. Yes, there are certain titles that do not need online, but for other games that is possible to encompass all features possible, support and revolutionizing is key in getting a perfect 10. Look at what OoT did, it made the biggest jumps in gaming like lock on Z targeting and a bunch of other things that completely revolutionized 3D gaming. Honestly, I don't see too many games on the horizon that REALLY revolutionize things, and make us see things for the better.

Looking at the Wii, until we start seeing games that really take over the controller and do something that simply isn't possible on other consoles, there isn't going to be any perfect games. Wii sports is good, and if the graphics were better it might have gotten better scores, but ultimately, it's a pretty shallow game and only enhanced by the Wiimote. IMO, Wii sports is the only game that REALLY takes advantage of the Wiimote properly, only if it took advantage of the other Wii things, like it's power, then it would have been a better game.

Sorry for ranting. :P

It may sound like a good idea...actually, it doesn't.

Everybody thinks that they have an idea of what the "perfect" Wii game..(I swear, if I hear that one more time I'll point my finger and bang on my desk). Thing is, your idea is exactly the opposite of what the Wii is about.

1) "control the sword with the remote and shield with nunchuk"

How unoriginal is that? That has been an example for SO many "perfect" Wii games, and yet there haven't been any Wii games that display this functionality correctly. TP? Nope. Red Steel? Big disappointment. What makes  you think some liscensed movie title will be able to pull it off?

2) That "hours of fun"

Wow. Slashing through persians for hours is not interesting. It was barely interesting to watch on the screen, let alone play it at home with less-than-stellar graphics. So, The Wii isn't even powerful enough to display the cool kills and massive groups of people, so you'd be getting a watered down version of something that wasn't that good to begin with. (I take that back, the effects pwned, but the movie sucked).

300 would not make a "perfect" Wii game. It wouldn't even make a decent Wii game. You're just thinking up of any liscensed movie title and tack on tried-and-failed controls and try to coin it as a "perfect" Wii game. Stop kidding yourself.
