[QUOTE="AskForDetails"][QUOTE="whoody12"]and, how is the PS3 going to render massive AF/ destructible terrein ?whoody12

battlefeild bad company runs on frostbite engine and its onlt on 360 and PS3 so yea, also scale and physics is what the cell does best

have you seen Bad Company's physics ?

its mostly dust, you cannot see buildings/trees collapse the way they do with crysis.

+ the fact you cant totally destroy buildings in BF:BC, it just take chunks out of it.

the way they do this is buy rendering it with Maya( or other 3d program) then make chunks out of it, so it can be shot out.

Crysis physics is totally different, it uses gravity to destroy thinks

but I quess you don't understand this ( partially becouse of my bad english :P)

u cant completely destry a building in crysis ether, maybe if its made of wood and metal roof

you can completely destroy buildings

the reason you cannot completely destroy the big buidlings ( hangars etc)is becouse it would kinda kill the gameplay, but ofcourse you don't know that becouse you rather complain on these forums then actually play the games

same in BF:BC, if u watch the videos u see parts where entires stuctures come down

[QUOTE="saolin323"][QUOTE="horrowhip"][QUOTE="saolin323"]You do understand those Alan Wake pics so far were with a 7900GTX card ??? No, it will NOT be "watered down" but EXACTLY as planned to be, unless you are in the team, and know something more

Also you have STILL not explained why PC has not one RPG looking like Mass Effect, and why Assassins, COD4, Bioshock HAVE NOT been watered down ???? Can you, just to see you argument rise from the floor

As for Far Cry 2 and project Offset beeing watered down, that is something only happening in your dreams, there is nothing suggesting they will, only you and your "predictions"

I bet you are one of those that said Far Cry 2 would NEVER ... EVER go to consoels, right ? See what happens now, maybe 360 is VASTLY more powerfull than you think ?

http://brightfalls.net/alan-wake-faq/

Is the 360 version going to be identical in graphics to the PC version?#

The 360 only has 3 cores but according to mixuk from Remedy it shouldn't matter.

"Having several cores helps, but is not required, since you can run several processes on one thread. In the current plans the PC and 360 versions will be pretty identical.

Also, we stream necessary data to memory when needed, the whole world will not be loaded into memory constantly. It's the same idea that was already in GTA3 for PS2, remember, it only had 32mb."

Alan Wake is expected to run at at least 30 frames per second on the Xbox 360.

horrowhip

THEY LIED. And, you know NOTHING. Quit spewing BS. All the Alan Wake screenshots were on Q6600 @ 3.6 GHZ, SLI 8800 Ultra's that were overclocked and 4GB of RAM...

And they made the statement you quoted above nearly 2 and a half years ago BEFORE MS was their publisher, the game was Vista only and before the PC version had gone DX10 only. The statement no longer holds and ground. as for those games you mentioned, people haven't been pushing PC tech. IF they were, every game would look like Crysis. CoD4 doesn't even phase current PC hardware, you can push the resolution WAY up and still get over 100 FPS. Same with Bioshock. There haven't been any recent PC RPG's lately that weren't on extremely old engines (The Witcher. Which is still great graphically). Oblivion with mods crushes Mass Effect graphically. Not even kidding...

Who lied ? Are you kidding ???

SLI 8800 Ultra ??? There were not even out in the time of the demo, hahahaha

http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=77279

they wer using a geforce 7900GTX...

So ? You lie or what ?

Also your argument about all games would look like Crysis, is totally untrue, since it took YEARS until the first game looked as good as Far Cry looked first

Crytek just makes amazing engines, and no games come close for years to them, we will probably never see a Crysis max quality game until the next xbox arrives IMO. Hell, not even the best of PC's today can run Crysis in its best !!!!!!!!

anandtech was wrong. Remedy said they were running on Dual SLI 8800 Ultras. And, they had access to said tech because they are teaming up with Intel and nVidia, sort of like what Crytek did with Crysis. And, YES it is possible to max Crysis. I do it every day infact.. Get a good 30 FPS too thanks to patch 1.1, the new drivers and some overclocking. Remedy, since announcing that MS is publishing the game, has announced the following. The PC version is being developed and optimized INDEPENDENTLY from the 360 version. Both will have the same content, however they have seperate teams working very hard on them. The core team was split into 2 parts, so technically, neither side has an advantage there. They have also said, they are making the PC versions engine around DX10.

yea, and on top of that they said they where runnign the demo on one of the worlds fastest gaming machines and 7900GTX was not the fastest then

This thread is pathetic. There isn't anything to hype about Killzone 2 yet because there hasn't been any gameplay details shown or any information on the gameplay being released.

All we know is....

  1. Big Budget
  2. Lots of Devs
  3. Graphics
  4. Lighting
  5. Its dark

None of those 5 reasons factor into any knowledge of what we know about the gameplay. For those who are hyping Killzone 2 you are hyping nothing. Is like hearing about a girl who is tall, thin, rich and blonde and claiming that she is a perfect 10 before you've even met her.

Have your blind confidence and hope. I'll wait until more details surface. In other news we know more about RFOM 2 then we do Killzone 2. What does that tell you?

Blackbond

I'm waiting fo a reply AskforDetails.

sorry i have a life out of sw, i cant do it all lol, neways watch the tech demo and you will see its more than graphics im hyping this game off of

Because...

Killzone - 6.9
Shellshock - 5.4

thirstychainsaw
go back and read

Killzone 1 had much more than 20 developers working on it!!

http://www.answers.com/topic/killzone?cat=entertainment

Lost Planet cost $20 million to develop!

http://kotaku.com/gaming/capcom/lost-planet-pricetag-40-million-233693.php

Lost Planet was not a AAA title even with a huge budget!!

noorur

not all of those are game developers.. when is the last time people who did voiced developed the game, killzone 2 team is much much more than 135 135 are the number of developers.

and lost planet used most of its funds on advertising, considering killzone 2 is 1st party it dsnt need to worry bcz sony has its own budget for advertisements

READ THIS HERE FIRST:

KILLZONE 1

Created by 20 PC devs in a short span of itme on low budget, originally for the PC, but rushed to PS2 which was outdated hardware at the time, the company was 3rd party

KILLZONE 2

company owned by sony managed by 135+ devs with millions of dollars put into it (est. 20 million) the game has been in development for nearly 4 years if it follows with its release and come out this fall. the game has been said to be amazing by those who have played it, and if you care to watch the tech demo you will see the hype is not just over graphics

_____________-------------------------NOTE DONT TELL ME "THE FIRST ONE SUCKED" THAT MYTH WAS DEBUNKED A LONG TIME AGO IT MIGHT AS WELL BE SONY MAKING THE GAME THEMSELFS-----------------------------______________________________

for a game in its pre-alpha stages it is Way more adv. than Any 360 game, and most PC games, it also is almost unparrelled in graphics, and it cant even be touched by a single 360 game, so pleqase lemmings do your best and tell me why this game is bad

has that new team of developers made a good game yet? no. have they proven themselves? no. let me think of some other games that were in development for 4 years... lair and heavenly sword..

a few ppl in that new dev team made killzone liberation on the PS3, while pretty much the rest of the dev team worked on Killzone 2, and Killzone liberation was a sick game AA

[QUOTE="AskForDetails"][QUOTE="-wii60-"]

[QUOTE="AskForDetails"][QUOTE="-wii60-"]Are those textures from a ps1 game? damn looks like poop.jlh47

lol hahah ahahah omg sum1 brought up the textures again... pre-alpha, and not a chance in hell they would leave them like that btw

more than 3 years under developement and pre alpha  suree, u cows eat up sony propaganda

lol coming form sum1 wiht the name wii360 that means a lot

you know wii60 speaks the truth... if it's still in pre-alpha after 3 years and it's due out this year then something wrong is going on...

why they spent a lot of time building an engine, look at project offset, its also in alpha form what i last heard and its ocming out this year, and it has 1 less year of production than Killzone 2

BEHOLD!!!!!! THE KILLZONE 1 PRODUCTION TEAM

If you just count the people of Guerrilla Games, it's at least 70 people. ;)

Yellow_Rose
NOT ALL OF THOSE ARE DEVS, the actual killzone 2 team is bigger than 135 people, but 135 people are actual developers
