@lilflipp @Archimedes777 @HuSSaR83 @KamuiFei And if a different reason had been given, they would have complained about that. Take a look at the comments sections on all of the reviews at Gamespot. People are constantly complaining about reviews because of the score.
@Klikandclick @Sky_Stifler @ChicoMonster People were saying the same things about the Wind Waker HD review. You shouldn't treat reviews like Metacritic does. You don't need to go out and read all of the reviews. What you need to do is find a reviewer that you trust, someone who shares your taste in games. When you find that person, you read their reviews to get a sense of whether you will like the game or not.
Also, you aren't supposed to read reviews after you have already decided that you like a game and then get angry because the reviewer's opinion differs from yours. Sure, challenge their opinion with some good points, but attacking them, as happens far too often, makes no sense.
Wrong on both counts. First, a reviewer can put whatever they want in the review. If they want to include a "feminist agenda" (which I don't think is what is happening here), they are entitled to. Telling them to not say what they think to please the community makes them a dishonest, thus, useless review.
Second, people are upset about the score. People are always upset about the score. I think you should watch the video again.
@ChicoMonster First off, I don't know if you have any actual statistics that prove that the audience of this website is mostly male. Sure, the vocal members seem to be, but that doesn't mean there aren't women here. Secondly, and I think more sadly, you think that there aren't men that care about these issues. Finally, most of the legislatures in North America are predominantly male, but I don't think anyone would have a problem with someone bringing up feminist issues there.
The thing that bothers me the most about what you are pointing out is that I am associated with it because I am part of the gaming community. I am over 30, and I hate being associated with the juvenile comments that some members of the community make. That said, I guess all we can really do is support Johnny on this one and hope the behaviour changes as the community develops.
1) Donald Trump isn't creating something that you enjoy. If you enjoy it, you should pay for it so that the developer can continue to develop things you enjoy.
2) If it is too expensive, wait for a while, and buy it when it is cheaper.
3) The money made from this game will go toward developing the next game that you like, so you should help with that, otherwise you're a freeloader, and no one likes a freeloader.
@lilflipp @Sardinar But is GTA not a critique of such profound violence? If not, then it is what all its critics in the mainstream media say it is: a negative influence on the young. If you agree that it is a critique of such violence, then the fact that it fails to also critique misogyny is a flaw that needs to be pointed out.
