Take a listen to Within Temptation. Their songs are usually not as heavy as Evanescences, but Sharon Den Adel has one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard.

Sharon Den Adel from Within Temptation is one of my favourite singers too, her voice is just amazingly beautiful. Male-wise I'd say Freddie Mercury.

Since I listen and know a lot of local singers (Blackpool A-list FTW), I'll have to include Jimmy Love, Leanne Fury and Clayton Mark as some of the most amazing singers I've seen.
