I think many people would die. We must have meat for the protein, sure some foods have the protein in it we need but not everyone has the access to that kind of food. So without it they would eventually die. So we would probably have very bad consequences.

look,human is not carnivore,look at out teeth,we have teeth of phythophageous mammals,if we were carnivore we'd be able to eat raw meats,but we cook it to make it eatable to make it easy for our teeth to chew,ofcourse we can gain those proteins from another things.
Anything is possible. If it were to happen, the consequences would be dire. We're at the top of the food chain. We are the Earth's best predator gone wrong, and if we all failed in our function as a species, it would wreak havoc on the world's ecosystem.

ironically thousands of animals would die as rainforest would have tto be cleared for soya and many countries would end up with evicted farm animals wondering the streets
Humans are Omnivores, that's just how we roll. There is no way in hell that every human on earth would just stop eating meat for no reason. Especially whilst I'm around anyway.
The world's ecosystem would be destroyed. If everyone started eatting more plants, we would be able to produce it fast enough. Plants would start becoming scarce. Oxygen would become bad because plants are needed to make it. It would be better for the earth if we eat more meat and less plants but I won't do that. I prefer to balance it.
I'm quite strange, because I like to snack on little things here and there. Only thing is, I don't snack on biscuits and such, but on pieces of ham, or salami or the such. I just love the taste of practically any meat.
not everybody has the means to give up meat. those who live in the more rich countries live a nice comfortable life in which they can afford to give up things that would be necessities in other countries.
