I agree with IGN that Kingdom Hearts 2 should have had more varied enemies making the use of magic more neccessary, and that the game was alot easier then the first one; but IGN is insane for giving KH II a 7.6. They claimed that the gameplay was too repetitive, which is sad because it is less repetitive then the standard turn based rpgs with the same scroll-pick-one animation per move attack.
If anything FF X-2 should have gotten the 7.6 from ign instead of the 9.5 it received.FF X-2 had a retarded pokemon like sphere story and the horrid reuse of FFX graphics and the atb system was far more worthy of a 7.6. FF X-2 also had an annoying battle song that sounded like something from the 70s and 80s, with little different and interesting for the soundtrack. The new character models are also less poly then the original FF X models in the face, and the facial textures for many of the characters like the Leblanc sindicate are lame. And don't even get me started on the 9.9 they gave to the easier, more repetitive Jade Empire (which was good for the targeted audience of the casual gamer), and good for at least a 9.0 or 8.5.
As for the 8.7 from gamespot. 8.7 from gamespot is like a 9.0 from most reviewers, and tons of good games I like from Shadow of Collossus-to-Kameo have received it. I believe an 8.9 or at least a 9.0 should have been in order, but at least Gamespot didn't go so low as to giving it a 7.6 like well known website that over and underrates games.
