@bluestorm83: You should be more careful about what you're saying, otherwise you risk provoking some radical Muslims to enslave and rape your whole family in front of you.
@Atzenkiller: In Brazil, a miscarriage can earn you a life sentence in prison. Abortion is a crime against humanity in that country, and they often can't tell the difference or refuse to believe that it was a miscarriage and not an abortion. Religious extremists are running the country and the only exceptions to the abortion law they allow are cases of rape (but good luck proving that to court as women's rights are fucking terrible), incest, to save the mother's life (if doctors say the woman risks death if she gives birth) and, since 2012, anencephaly, a fatal condition in which infants are born without parts of the brain or skull (yes, before 2012 they forced mothers to give birth in these cases). One particular case happened recently involving a ten years old girl who was repeatedly raped since the age of six and became pregnant. The girl was harassed by mobs of protesters for seeking abortion and a hospital refused to treat her.
I hope that by "abolish cops", they mean "reform the police". The current state of the police is corrupted and criminal. They commit war crimes left and right and never face any form of accountability. I can see why you'd want to abolish such a system, but leaving the world in a state of total anarchy isn't the solution.
@listerofsmeg: Writers aren't the ones adding microtransactions, publishers are. Even more proof that your reading comprehension is lacking is the fact that you think I hate single player games. She obviously also prefers single player games. And the games you listed have absolutely nothing to do with EA. You're arguing against the wrong people. She agrees with you and I agree with you. The one not giving a shit about linear single player games is EA. Thanks to loot boxes, their games earn them billions, which is something Horizon unfortunately never accomplished. EA is more interested in money than reputation. They're only going to green light games that are easy to monetize with gambling mechanics, i.e. non linear multiplayer games. Asking her to take her ideas to EA makes no sense because EA has been repeatedly rejecting them because they, not her, refuse to publish linear single player games, which is exactly what she wants to make. It can't be that hard to comprehend.
@listerofsmeg: You don't get it, she actually hates the fact that publishers now refuse to green light single player games because they're harder to monetize. They're now rejecting her ideas. She's pissed that her idea for a linear single player Star Wars adventure game was canceled in favor of games like Battlefront II, whose only purpose is to be moneymaking machines meant to take advantage of gamblers with loot boxes. She's agreeing with you and you're insulting her for it. Your reading comprehension skills are severally lacking.
@dragonsama: Considering the fact that the majority of Smash fans are from North America and that the series sells the least in Japan, NOA must be the one choosing the DLC characters.
@bigcrusha: No, microtransactions exist because compulsive buying is a thing. It's even a clinically documented symptom of many mental illnesses and can even come as a side effect from some medicine. Compulsive buying and gambling often go hand in hand, and yes, compulsive gambling is also a symptom of many mental illnesses and can come as a side effect from medicine (for example the one against Parkinson's Disease being a popular one). There has been cases where pharmaceutical companies were sued (and lost) for ruining people's lives thanks to one of the hidden side effects being compulsive buying/gambling. There really is a part in your brain that can provoke such hazardous compulsivity and it's possible for outside factors to affect on it. This also means in theory that medicine can cure compulsive gambling and buying, but we have yet to see anything conclusive on the matter.
When a developer implement microtransactions in their games, it's always because they want to profit on those with mental illnesses. For this reason, such practices should be illegal.
