DS not getting attention? Yeah, sorry, but I don't think that's the case. Those things are crazy popular in Japan, which, believe it or not, is SEGA's main market, not America. The Japanese like this overly-dramatic storyline and overly-enthused acting stuff that comes with the recent Sonic games. Now, I'm not sure how they took to Sonic Riders because the story in that game was terrible from beginning to end.sonicphc
No, I'm not saying the DS is getting zero attention (it is in fact quite popular), it's just that a company's home console releases will almost always overshadow their handheld ones, thats their marketing scheme'

Truph that is, the problem for the Sonic franchise though, is that since handhelds aren't on the main front of gaming; it is difficult for your little GBA/DS/PSP game to get any attention (en masse) no matter how good it is.

I'm getting off topic though, the thing about the regular 3D Sonic's is that they haven't been able to capture a forumula that does absolutely everything right (SA - Big, SA2 - Hunting, shooting, Heroes/Shadow - finicky controls, 2006 - horrendous loads).  Riders 2 can't get screwed up though, unless they [Sonic Team] radically depart from the original, it was good fun and worked almost flawlessly soooo I'll just guess that if it stays basically the same, it'll be fun as well'

I don't give a crap about the reviewers. Gamers who are looking for a good time enjoyed it.
People these days simply don't care for 3D Sonic games.DoctorEggman
I disagree, there are plenty of people who love SA, SA2, Heroes, even a few dig Shadow (myself included) but I must say the reviewers this time (while being a bit biased) did have some warrant. 2006, didn't desrve 4.4, but it definatly should never be given more than a 6.5 Oh well, its not Sonic Team's fault, I'm pretty sure Sega forced them to release this one so that it would fit within the 15th anniversary window.

I can't find it right now, but wasn't there an interview were Mr. Naka said he was excited about the Wii and that it could take Sonic Riders to the next level?  That sounds alot like "hey we're developing SR2 right now" doesn't it?

eh, I don't know.  I really liked the air system, I think its perfect, yes even the pits.  If they got rid of the pits and replaced the refueling with something else like a strip or zone I think SR would get similar to Sega/Nintendo's ther racer F-Zero.  More tracks and online play would definatly be awesome though.
