"Fortunately, there are games that recognize the value of losing and do some clever things to preserve its power. One of the most basic ways that games encourage players to care about losing is rank."

I seriously cannot believe I am reading this. Did you do any serious research on the effect chasing after rank does to people's real world lives? One of my best friends lost his job over this gambling like addiction. People in south east Asia have done worse; they lost their lives. 9 straight days with no sleep, almost no food and very little water can and has killed people.

"Microsoft said, adding that fewer than 20 exist in the world."

Whoah, stop. MS, the *idea* behind a console launch is, you sneakily make LESS consoles than the market wants, so you stoke up demand when you tell the world you sold out, it really is that popular.

And you made 20? You broke that rule there, didn't you? Supply just exceeded demand by 130%.

@Monsterkillah I think you will find they are Oompa Loompas, and you can only get inside the Nintendo building with a special golden ticket.

superb video, well done Cam. I had a discussion with a friend about the film Inception, and how it could never exist as a concept in reality. We have no 'place cells' in dreams, you can only fool yourself a dream is real for microseconds, before the brain drifts away, works out what is going on or wakes you up.

@nocoolnamejim and that infantile comment qualifies you to be not one, but two? moderators? What exactly are you in charge of moderating?

Suggest you research the sheer volume of downloads on mobile gaming against the physical disc sales before shooting such comments off. Make no mistake, console gaming as an idea will be fighting for its existence over the next ten years.

great, so while the rest of the planet tries to develop electric cars, no more low power mode TV, and low power consumption entertainment systems to offset the impact of all these coal fired power stations on the planet, MS invents a giant brick that wants power continuously for TEN YEARS.

let me say this, and I HOPE Microsoft reads this; The number one problem with Xbox Live, by a mile, is under age players.

They camp in their bedrooms, swear at everybody online, and you can hear them swearing at their mothers in the background.

We need a report underage player button to get them off adult rated content, where ironically the thing most deserving of the adult rating is the language from these under age players.

That ruined Live for me. I don't pay money to have a foul mouth 12 year old swearing into my ear when he gets shot in a game.
