Getting a new card really depends on the games you want to play (currently and in the future), what resolution you plan on using, and what details you want to see in a game.
A few months ago I put together a pc for my brother-in-law, and at that time, the best option for their budget was an ati 4870. He uses a 17" crt monitor and can play any game out with 4xAA and high details at 1280x1024 resolution.
His computer with those details and resolution actually runs better than my 8800 Ultra card, with no AA but at a custom 1804x1014 resolution - scaled down from 1920x1080. My use of AA depends on the game - some look more jagged than others.

A 4870 isn't enough for Crysis and 4xAA and max even at that low resolution.
For movies 120hz is better because films are filmed at 24fps. 60 isn't divisible by 24 but 120 is.

I thought that logic was flawed. Because in reality 120Hz just means that the framerate is sort of interpolated and doubled. My reasoning is that in the UK the technology is called 100Hz but its exactly the same stuff you guys have. Just branded differently because you have 60Hz standard, whereas UK 50Hz is standard.
Either way 120hz is much better for games, sports, and movies.
[QUOTE="TintedEyes"][QUOTE="racing1750"] Don't you think the delays are getting ridiculous? because i sure do, i've been waiting for GT5 since it was announced.racing1750
Delays? So far there has been only one, and that was in freaking Japan, plus Sony already said that the Japan delay has nothing to do with the US and EU. I'm pretty sure everyone expected GT5 to release fall 09, the game is taking forever to release, i'm hoping PD are planning a worldwide release in summer.
Thats the best we can hope for now is the summer release.
