I think the person locking the thread should always give a valid reason for doing so in the thread. Especially for issues that are not obvious.

That's what the mods do over at PlayStation.com. They'll lock a thread but post the reason why (such as flaming, talk of other consoles, no discussion value, etc.) and they're happy to talk about any problems with threads through PMs. I think a system like this would be a nice addition to GUFU so that people can avoid making future threads that will get locked for the same reason.

Well BlackBond Teuf did apologize to you in mIRC, you failed to state that. I feel if anyone wants to critisze a system they should do so without resorting to potshots. You did apologize for your Warhawk comment and that was good to see! I hope everyone keeps these things in mind, because GUFU is supposed to be about supporting all systems. I myself dont care for the Wii, but I try to limit my comments on it on the boards. mIRC is a good place to go vent. :)Heil68

It is kinda hard to defend the PS3 right now since it's got a high price, mediocre sales, no good exclusives, and Sony's big first-party IP's are flopping.

Those of us who remain Playstation fans do so only because we keep our fingers crossed for the future (i.e. MGS4, FFXIII)

Besides looking to the future and despite other's positions and claims, I'm actually enjoying the here and now that the PS3 has to offer. I know some complain about the lack of titles but for what has been released to date, I've been kept more than busy with the PS3 line up and even PS2 titles I missed. I think many are just expecting too much from the first year and are making baseless comparisons to the 360 now. I mean, the 360 started off rough too but it seems people want to overlook that.

PS3 has a great line up (of course, IMO) going out this year and into next year starting with Heavenly Sword (for me) so my only issue is getting the money together to get the titles that interest me :P

I kind of feel like testing my own EB Games. Usually I don't need to ask any questions, as more often than not I'm just there to pick up or pre-order games. Just a nonchalant trivia question during my next trip, see if they can pull out an answer.
At least the people there (at least at my store)are nice, and can be funny at times. I honestly wouldn't care too much if they didn't evengame at all, but distrust in customers is something I wouldn't take from any store. There's always the jerk clerk, I guess.IAmRodyle

Well, after having many issues with the game from it completely freezing my PS3 to not being able to connect or when I do connect and then getting disconnected shortly after to not being able to connect to a server, I've decided to take Warhawk back. It's fun game with amazing game play, I give it that, but you can only enjoy it when you can get into a server and that's a big problem when it's an online only game.

I know it's a first week thing and you'll probably say give them some time to patch it but I've always been skeptical of picking up the game seeing as it came out so close to Heavenly Sword which has had my attention more than Warhawk and also because I'm more of a single player gamer so it's more so the issues forcing me back to my original debate on which one to get and Warhawk just isn't something I'm enjoying with the included frustrations at the moment.

I've already called Gamestop and they said as long as I have the receipt, I'd be able to return it so it's going back this week (sadly, I don't want to part with the really nice headset :( I hope Sony and Jabra can come to terms to sell it as an official, stand alone headset) and putting the funds towards Heavenly Sword instead.

I called another Gamestop that my mom can go to (closer to her work) and now they're telling me something different. They're telling me that they can only really exchange it for the same game and that if the freezing up issue is just the disc, which they'll check out themselves, then they'd exchange it. But talking to others on the board, it's not a specific disc related problem as some are having the issue with the PSN version as well so it's a 'game in general' issue depending on who you are.

So she said she'll call me back cause I'll probably have to explain everything to the guy if she takes it to him. The girl I talked to at the other one said nothing about this when I told her.

Last time I go this route. Now it's not just Warhawk that has forced this decision upon myself, but the last few online centric games I've bought or that were tailored for an online experience. It's just not worth the trouble of going through for me so I'm just going to avoid it altogether and stick to something I can enjoy which is the single player experience of a game.

Between Warhawk freezing my PS3 and Rainbow Six kicking me mid-match to the XMB or locking up when me and my cousin are playing T-Hunt on the SAME DAMN CONSOLE :|, I'm just gonna avoid them altogether. The only one I'm even positive of keeping an eye on is Metal Gear Solid Online but that's it.

I'm frustrated with the fact that Gamestop pretty much said I was lying about the game (Warhawk) freezing up my PS3 and said they've never heard of a game freezing up the system. And apparently, they know as the higher ups have told them to withhold any exchanges from the way the guy was talking about the matter and that the best they could do was exchange for another copy.

I'm through with their chain of stores...it's one thing to say 'We can only exchange it' but to call me a damn liar? To hell with you ass clowns. You've been ripping people off for years on trade in and I can tell you to kiss my go lucky ass for calling me a goddamn liar and they're lucky I wasn't in person returning the game instead of my mom cause I don't take kindly to some ass hat calling me a liar to my face, especially when other people are having the same issues.

I have a PS3 and it's more than enough console wise. PC wise, I just want something that can play RTS (my laptop is crap). Other than an HDTV and the former, I'm set.

Had a 360 but due to the constant problems and lack of interest in the games (besides Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, and Team NINJA's games), I got rid of it. Depending on future exclusives, may or may not even get another one.
