Graphically a very satisying new entry, the difficulty sadly has gone down quite a lot though. Also, the post-game content is disappointing.. A battle fronteir has been series-standard since gen 3, taking it away now seems VERY strange.
Other than this the game is very well-crafted, great visuals and has interesting mechanics! I love the mega-evolution and can't help but speculate which other pokemon are to receive mega-evolution. This game actually reminded me of gen I games quite a lot: starting off with a big winding forest, having a route available to the entrance of victory road real early, having the mewtwo cave guarded by a guy mentioning you have to be champion to go in, referencing actual pokemon death (lavender town) etc.
