This makes drawing circles actually fun!

User Rating: 8.5 | Pokemon Ranger: Batonnage DS
Ok, your sitting in your math class, when the teacher says "Please draw a circle with a round object so it's perfect." Your probably thinking what's the point? Well, after you play Shadows of almia, you will rush to be the first one to get your round thing!

Storyline:

If you don't want to find out about the story, don't move on. There ARE spoilers!

You character is in a school, trying to become a pokemon ranger. Your friends, Issac and Rhythimi, are training to be a mechanic (fixes the things rangers uses called stylers) and a person who send little messeges to the Ranger via Voice mail.(known as an operator.) Your other friend, Keith, is also training to be a ranger. During your graduation, two Tanglegrowth escape into the Ranger School, and you and Keith each capture one of the Tanglegrowth.
After that, you continue the graduation.
That's just the begging of the story with some parts chopped out, but the story is pretty good. It's what you'd expect from a Pokemon game.

Gameplay
I mentioned this in the whole math thing. The gameplay is not catching pokemon, but drawing circles around them to befriend them. On the area your in, there might be Pokemon. There are even pokemon in one city! To befriend pokemon, you have to draw circles around the Pokemon with your stylus. After there little bar fills al the way, that pokemon will follow you until,
1. You use a Poke-assist with it or a Field Move.
2. You release it.
And unlike the original Pokemon Ranger, in this one, you can take your pokemon in the cities without having to release them all.
The only pokemon that don't follow you are legendaries, ones used by Team Dim-Sun( the evil team in the game) or ones being controlled by a Gigaremo(machines that make all the Pokemon in that room go berserk)
Now, the pokemon you capture will help you along the way. Poke-Assits are used during capture to make it easier to catch the pokemon, An example is Steel Types Poke-Assists make a Steel Ball as you move around your Capture Disc, and it gets bigger the longer you hold it (unless a Pokemon touches your line) then you fling it at the Pokemon to make it unable to use attacks temporarily. Field Moves are used out of capture to get rid of an obstacle. Example is a burning tree. You would click it to see what Field Move you need, which in this case, it's one Water. The number indicatd how strong the move needs to be. Since it's one, any water Pokemon would do. (except Floatzel or Blastoise) So if you have one in your team, click the Pokemon, and drag the line to the tree. It will ask if you want to use the Pokemon. Say yes, and the Pokemon will use it. But after that, th pokemon will be released.
The gameplay is really fun!

Music:
The main capture theme in this is much better than the original. It's a very catchy tune that I end up humming! All the othere themes are great too, the panic theme really fits the situation, and some town and city themes are cheery.

Graphics:
These graphics are very nice. For once, the pokemon move and interact! They are also very nice and colorful. Enviromets graphics are good, too.

Sound:
The sounds include:
-Pokemon Cries.
-The ping when a text box appears
-Another ping if they continue to talk
-Sound Effects.
So, sound isn't superb, buts it still adds to the game.

Replay Value
The replay value is good. There are more missons to finish, you can go to the Capture Stadium, you can get all the Partner Pokemon, and there are also the wi-fi missons to do, if you haven't already. But if you don't have Wi-Fi, it's just NOT as good.
