NHL 10 has many fun game modes, great controls, and just...plain fun. The online is fun, but shootouts get laggy.

NHL 10 was my first hockey game I have played in a couple years. The last console I played a hockey game on was the PS2, and I'm sure it was a PS1 game.

I really like the new controls (new for me :P). Using the right analog stick to shoot and aim is really neat and easy. All of the controls in NHL are easy to get down after a day.

The AI is smart and fun to play against. If you play on Rookie difficulty, the AI is too easy to play against. Pro is when they start being aggressive and realistic.

Be a Pro is really fun, and the blue arrow is a nice, helpful little notifier. It pretty much just tells you where to go. Being a goalie in Be a Pro is fun too, but the AI team never has the puck on offense for very long. So you don't get that much action. One annoying thing in Be a Pro is that if you simulate a game, you character does horrible. If you simulate like, a week, the GM threatens to send you to the AHL. Yes, you could simulate all 3 periods and play the last 5 minutes, but still. You know what I mean, right?

Also, another "minus" in Be a Pro is: When I first bought the game, I played on Rookie. I would carry our team on a +15 winning streak ( I bumped it up to Pro after I won the Stanley cup :) ). If I lost ONE game, the GM would say "I'm not going to accept losing. You need to do better." Really? We just had our 17 win streak ended, and your complaining? That gets annoying.

Another con is that the announcers don't really have much dialogue. I hear the same thing multiple times a game. It would be kind of nice to hear something different.

Other than those points, NHl 10 is pretty good. I would recommend it to anyone interested in hockey and gaming, but NHL 11 is coming soon, so I would say just wait for that.
