Time-travelling latest entry in Sony's action series dropping on PlayStation 3 later this year.
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will arrive exclusively on the PlayStation 3 this fall, developer Sanzaru Games told GameSpot today.
Announced during Sony's 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo briefing, Thieves in Time previously carried a general 2012 release window.
Though Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is the first entry in the franchise Sanzaru has designed, the studio is not entirely a stranger to the series. The developer--also behind PlayStation 2 title Secret Agent Clank--contributed to 2010's Sly Collection.
The Sly Collection is a budget-priced high-definition combination pack that bundled PlayStation 2 Sly titles Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly 2: Band of Thieves, and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves for the PS3. These titles were originally developed by Sucker Punch Productions, which has since devoted its efforts to the Infamous franchise on the PS3.
As was suggested by the game's teaser trailer at E3 2011, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will have players meeting up with Sly's ancestors through time travel. @theKSMM you got three thums down... I hope I get 100 because I totally agree with you. All this crap about HD revamps does not make any sense... consider a game like Killzone which was OK but never as great as KZ2 or KZ3... there is going to be an HD version but zero game improvements... Why on earth pay so much for a game when a vintage collection like this or any other should be worth 5-10 bucks at much.
What has the gaming world come to when a collection of eight-year-old games sells for $30 and is considered "budget-priced?" At this point those games could all be $4.99 PSN downloads or iOS apps...

I'm glad to know they will making Sly4 , but sound sanzaur will destroy the game i'm sure they will but guns in this one ( hope not) , hope sanzaur don't disappoint us .
@AuronAXE Sadly Crash and Spyro won't be happening. They were taken away from us by the malicious money-monster known as ActiVision.
Maybe we can get the golden Sony platforming days back? All we need is a proper Spyro, Jak and Crash Bandicoot. Just imagine the awesomeness.

Just started the collection last night and enjoyed it. I'm still a big inFamous fan, but I'm likely going to finish the collection and then get this upcoming release.
At last, I thought it would be pushed to Q1 2013, glad to know it's finally coming and earlier than I expected! Pre-order and if there's a collector's made available, it'll be mine!

Wow that's cool. I immediately thought about Sly Fox when I seen Sly, and what do you know... a Fox!
Well when this game comes out, I can finally figure out if Sony will start doing what other publishers have done (*cough* Arkham City, Amalur, Mass Effect 3), I'll see if they put any portion of this single player game behind a paywall.

Lol - I'm surprised the heading didn't read, "Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time sneaking its way onto shelves this fall" Anyways, this is just too cool. I've been a Sly fan for a long time (even though I've only played the third one) and I can't wait for this! I was so psyched when I watched its announcement on E3 :D Thanks for the update GameSpot :)
The Collection introduced me to this amazing series, and I can't wait to play Sly 4! I think it'll be great from what I've seen...
@dylan417 The same can be said about most action games such as God Of War and, IMO, those games were worth their 60$. It's all about the experience and the good time you get with the game.
Not sure if this game is worth $60. The original games were pretty short and there's not much replay value or co-op/multiplayer. It doesn't look any different than the PS2 collection of three games for $40. And Sucker Punch isn't making it...
Oooo can't wait. Day one purchase for me. Sly 2 and 3 were among my favorite games of last gen.
