I hope this is going to be a good game because I played GTA 4 and It was so awesome from the detail of the city to the car crashes. I just want this to be better and also can we have one more trailer so it won't seem that we are waiting as long.
Rockstar announces GTA V
New Grand Theft Auto game in the works; trailer coming next week.
Today, Rockstar games confirmed the existence of GTA V through a tweet that simply read "#GTAV," with a link to the developer's main Web page. That page has been temporarily replaced with a single image: the logo for Grand Theft Auto V, along with a promise of a first trailer on November 2.
The latest rumors surrounding the long-expected GTA V swirled in June, when development was said to be "well under way" by a source close to Rockstar. The source also indicated that a 2012 release was very likely for the title.
No official details about characters, setting, or platforms have yet been made, but various casting calls linked to Rockstar have suggested that a return to the fictional city of San Andreas and its environs is likely. Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter--who initially stated he expected the game to be out by the end of 2010--has estimated GTAV's development costs have passed $80 million, and that it will sell in excess of 18 million units.
Wherever the next GTA is set, it will have some big shoes to fill. Its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto IV, was a massive success for Rockstar and Take-Two. As of March, the game had sold nearly 20 million copies, placing it among the top-selling games of all time.
[UPDATE] This story originally reported that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas sold more than 12 million units globally, citing official figures as of 2005. At the time of EA's hostile takeover bid in 2008, Take-Two updated those figures, revealing that the game had at that point sold some 21.5 million units worldwide.

Its coming out for PC but 6 or 7 month after release the xbox & ps3 version . look like GTA IV

Think about it, GTA always comes out every 4 years, GTA san andreas was released in 2004, GTA IV in 2008, also they released the 1st trailer about 6 or 7 months ago and now they will have another 6 months of hardcore publicity to release this game in time for Christmas 2012 that's is 4 years later since the last GTA.

@digi-demon Oh, well i played it a few months ago and had a blast. x) I guess if you want eye-candy its aged horribly. and the targeting takes some getting used to. and the A.I. is pants-on-head stupid. But the rest feels just as fun as it ever did.
I'm sure it's gonna be in the modern era in the West Coast: San Andreas, Los Santos (Los Angeles), Las Venturas (Las Vegas) Vinewood (Hollywood). That money graphic on the "V" makes me think of all the LA gangs, casinos, and fame; which all happens to coincide with GTA: San Andreas location. @enzo5595 GTA San Andreas changed GTAs whole game play! To be honest, I prefer most things about San Andreas than I do to GTA 4! GTA 4 wasn't even that good, hopefully they'll reflect on the features from San Andreas and tweak a few things here and there and even add some new features in GTA 5, just my opinion. :)

I definitely think this grand theft will span different locales around the world including flights and fight in airports as well as trying to get away on planes by sneaking aboard them. the story will probably be some type of undercover cop gone rogue because he finds out information he shouldn't and has to get to the truth
1,260,000,000 dollars profit for GTA 4. try to keep these numbers in mind when they tell you to buy additional features
1 Like @Mr__Maniacal Agreed. I think they will make the game and the 1st game there will no be C.J, since they know ppl want to see C.J back, then they will release an additional features with C.J and make even more money.

Los Angeles / San Fernando Valley / Hollywood during the 1980's... one of the most unique times / locations in modern history. That's my guess.

1 Like @muzza93 - defo, the car handling in GTA4 was great - solid and heavy, like a real car. Every model had its advantages. Something like Saints Row is great fun but the handling has always been a hideous, twitchy, light mess. GTA4 felt right, the damage was awesome and I'd often just park my car and look around at the world. I'm really interested to see how much more they can improve upon it. I've been playing games since Pong and I don't recall being as excited about a game as GTA4, so GTA5 has my full attention :)
@Epicurus-Reborn Tried to play GTA: San Andreas recently - sorry but imo it has aged badly - pretty much unplayable these days...
