BioWare, EA trademark Paper, Scissors, Stone
Australian trademark filing potentially points to another LucasArts-related project for EA RPG house.
EA, BioWare, and LucasArts are weeks away from shipping Star Wars: The Old Republic, but it appears their collaboration won't be ending there.
As spotted by Halfbrick Studios' Ryan Langley, the November 30 filing is scant on details. The listing specifies that the "Paper, Scissors, Stone" trademark does indeed fall within the computer games category--specifically featuring science fiction themes--and has been given an M classification. The publisher is listed as EA, with "BioWare & Lucas" under author.
BioWare and LucasArts already have ties dating back to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic on the original Xbox, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that they could have plans for future collaborations beyond The Old Republic.
As for original BioWare properties, the developer is set to unveil its latest new game (pictured) at the Spike Video Game Awards on December 10. Yesterday, Electronic Arts announced that it had acquired social game developer KlickNation, which will merge with BioWare's San Francisco operations to form BioWare Social.
