LOS ANGELES--Capcom's upcoming crossover fighter is more crossed over than previously thought. At Sony's E3 media briefing today, the company announced Street Fighter X Tekken would arrive for the newly renamed Vita handheld in addition to the previously announced PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. On top of that, the game will feature Infamous protagonist Cole McGrath and his arsenal of electric powers. (Capcom later confirmed that Cole would be appearing in the PS3 version as well.)

Originally announced at last year's San Diego Comic-Con, Street Fighter X Tekken is the first of two games that will pit the pugilists of the two famed fighting franchises against one another. Developed by Capcom, Street Fighter X Tekken is a 3D game with the action confined to a 2D plane, much as it was in Street Fighter IV. Although the full roster has not yet been revealed, it will feature Street Fighter staples like Ryu, Guile, and Chun Li, as well as Tekken characters like Kazuya, King, and Nina Williams.

Sometime after the launch of that game, Namco Bandai will offer its own take on the crossover with Tekken X Street Fighter. Little is known about that project, which is being overseen by Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada.
