Resurgence Map Pack crushes PSN, PC July 6

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's second batch of downloadable content arrives next month at $15 for PlayStation 3, PC.

Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a title that has done over $1 billion in sales since it debuted in early November, is a cultural and commercial behemoth. It has nestled itself atop activity charts and has built a multimillion-member following, but the war for the television screen isn't yet over.

Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling revealed today via Twitter that the game's second map pack will arrive for the PlayStation 3 and PC next month. The Resurgence Map Pack, which first debuted on Xbox Live June 3, will hit North American PS3s on July 6 and will be released a day later on the system in Europe. The PC version of Infinity Ward's shooter will be released worldwide on July 6.

The new map pack is similar in structure and price point to its predecessor, the Stimulus Package. It will set wargamers back $15 and is made up of two Call of Duty 4 remakes and three original environments. The new death playgrounds are Trailer Park, Carnival, and Fuel, and the recycled environments are Vacant and Strike.

In addition to the arrival of the content, Bowling has confirmed (also via Twitter) that when the content rolls out, PC and PS3 enthusiasts can enjoy double experience for rifling headshots and slitting throats.

    I played this map pack on my friend's xbox .. this one is better than the 1st map pack. Unfortunately, the do have glitches. On one map ppl can hide in a rock just like the one in Creek on COD MW1 .. let's hope they fix it b4 they release the map pack for PSN. Another wish is they have a discount on the price for PSN plus users!

    this just means that Activision will never listen to gamers. of course, thanks in part to everyone who bought the first DLC and let them make more millions.. so it's ok i guess.

    da pp who complain abt noobtubers knifers n campers r noobs demsself. headshots stops a knifer in his tracks. headshot makes a noobtubers grenade fly way over ur head instead of on da ground infront of u... and if ucatchh a camper in da head.. he will think twice abt that camp sspot nex time. if u play da game enuff u will learn how to get around all dat.. mmakin u a pro. like me. headshots a plenty. look for me on psn if u want wins.. or die alot. psn id- Emprrah.

    If it was a ridiculous price I would not. Instead I would just not buy it, or pirate it. Both acts would hurt my game collection so I just hope publishers don't continue to jack up the prices.

    It's because of people like you we will see an increase in game prices and an increase in DLC price. Activision and the like will continue to put up the price because they know a large majority of the consumers will still buy it. When will you put your foot down? When DLC becomes as expensive as a new game? Chances are you will still buy it, why? Because you think your showing 'loyalty' to a company that really doesn't care about you.

    @flint 247: are you playing on the ps3 or on the pc? cuz regardless im sure that
    1. people camp in any fps.. this coming from my experience with battlefield bc2, and fear2.
    2. the trick is to throw a FLASH/STUN before you run around possible camping spots.. you'll find that out if you play long enuf..
    3. knifing is only annoying if people run around and get you.. but truth to be told.. you should have gotten them b4 they even have the chance to creep up onto you..
    4. and this is the best part.. have you personally seen any noobtuber having a huge kill death difference? cuz ive already spent 8days playing on9 and ive yet to find one.. sure its irritating.. but people get them before they can even get a decent kill.. CUZ THEY ARE NOOBS... whereas for those people who seem to have played worms before.. well.. you gotta look out for those...
    5. and with regards to battlefield bc2. as ive played the ps3 version, i dont like the way they assign you to a team, and you're forever bound to that team.. all's fine if your team is doing well.. but if it isnt, you'll hafta back out of the game and rejoin.. which in my opinion.. sux...

    so judging from what you've said thus far.. im pretty sure you dont own a ps3.. or at least, play mw2 on the ps3

    I disagree on the part where you said "you are worse than people who camp, knife, noobtube all the time".

    From what I played, the camping is what makes the game more irritating than what I have experienced in other FPS games. You get almost no time to react when being shot at suddenly and they can move on to new camping ground and repeat the process. Knifing is annoying when people combine it with marathon and commando, coming out of nowhere and get you. And there's absolutely no excuse for noobtubing. I got owned many times by noobtubers and I can't tell if they have a grenade launcher or not until it's too late; plus being spawn killed by them is annoying as well.

    ok.. first of all.. yes.. its abit pricy.. blame activision for that.. but despite all that.. its still a very very good game, abit unbalanced but hey; no games are perfect.. and to be honest, i'll say its possibly the best fps out there, whether its the campaign or the online..

    @extremefallout: any fps would have campers, knifers and all the sort.. and as for noobtoobers, seriously, if you cant beat them, that just proves that you're worse than them.. -_-; no reason to hate a game because of the players..

    I will never buy any of the COD DLC cause its just over priced,full of campers,knifers, and Noobtoobers! For something that doesnt take any cash to make just time WTF is with the 15 dollar price tag! RIPOFF! BFBC2 ALL THE WAY!

    the lvl looks cool (bailout) but im done with MW2 so many exploits im a BFBC2 fan... BFBC2 need a fully urban rush mode (24player) and Squad DM... no vehicles just guns and destuction!!!

    I only paid $40 for MW2. No way I'm paying $30 for 6 maps if the game came with like 15. At most I'll pay $20 for a bundle.

    the fanboys will still buy it, but all the Map Packs for Call Of Duty games are the same now, they don't think about what will make the game better, just what appeals to the majority, campers. They should make the maps more tactical, I'm sure most here played COD4 and will agree that the maps back then (Pipeline, Crash, Qvergrown) had a lot more variety and tactics than the new games.

    so you paid 60$ for the game with a crappy matchmaking system, then bought 1 map pack which has only 3 real new maps and now a second map pack for just another $15 wow so you spent like 90$ in total on a game thats gonna be left in the dark when cod7 is comming out. this dlc is just a freakin rip off, nothing more.

    This is an outrage, activision is milking all it can out of Modern Warfare 2, $15 for each map pack is the biggest rip off i have ever seen on the marketplace. I feel that map packs should always be 800 points at the most, thats for games like MW2 and Bad Company 2 and other triple a highly played MP games. and other MP games that are played alot but not on the same level as those should be anywhere from 400 to 600 points. if you have a map pack that has 5 maps then yea 800 is fine but if its 3 maps then 400 is good price. but if the DL is for example, 5 new maps, 10 new special op's missions and a few new weapons or 2 new game modes than 1200 is a good price. stop ripping gamers off. we already are paying 60 bucks to play your game and now you wanna make us pay 30 extra dollars to play some new maps??!! F**K off its an insult to all us gamers. Bad Company 1 had 5 new maps and was free, unreal tournament 3 has new game modes and 2 packs which are all free cause Epic knows that its wrong to make a gamer pay 60 for your game and then 20-40 more dollars to get a couple maps. this is why i stopped playing call of duty after modern warfare 1, MW2 went downhill all noob friendly and made for causal gamers, Play Vegas 2, GRAW 2, or Bad Company 2 for some real MP shooting, they arent made for 12 year old kids where you can run around in one game and get 20 kills and 5 deaths every time HAHAH call of duty is over. Medal of Honor is here to bring real fps gaming

    5 maps for $15.00 is over priced maybe if it was all 10 and new weapons & perks and new camo.. On Battlefield BC2 I bought a VIP code for the same price and got 12maps. and the maps are like 3 times the size of MW2 maps.. MW2 is filled with campers, noob tubers ,and flash banging retards i think part of the reason is because the the 5 $15.00 maps are TOO small!!!!!!!!!!! thats way alot of people sold MW2

    I think people have come to their senses. When the first map pack came out, roughly 1-2 million got it. Their was still a large community telling everyone not to buy it but people did, like me. But since this second map pack came out, I haven't herd anything on the sales and my friends and I haven't bought them.
