PS3 Enchanted Arms coming to North America

Ubisoft confirms domestic release for port of Xbox 360, announces motion-sensitive controller features.

Last September, From Software announced the Japanese PlayStation 3 release of its Enchanted Arms role-playing game. Today, French publisher Ubisoft confirmed that it will be bringing the game to North America, just as it did with the original Xbox 360 version of the game. The game's official Web site hasn't been updated with information on the PS3 edition yet, but Ubisoft has said it will take advantage of the Sixaxis controller's motion-sensing abilities for a number of gameplay features, from gaining access to better attacks to solving puzzles. It will also include the option to play with the original Japanese language track or all-new English dialogue.

The only D&D based rpgs I would reccoment are Baldur's gate 2 (maybe 1 also) and Planescape: Torment. Then again, those are REALLY good games.

    Ok, first off...
William, you don't appear to have played many RPGs. FF is not the only one out there, try D&D (or something similar) if you want to know what an RPG is supposed to be. How this got turned to Oblivion when this is supposed to be about Enchanted Arms I will never know but figured I would point that out.
Aerialstrike- We have had 22 FF titles come out? I think you meant XII (12).

well williammu1985 is really pissed. final fantasy XXII rules so dont worry about it, one of the best games ever released on the ps2 but i disagree with you on oblivion. well for the rpg part its not all about getting stronger and leveling its about playing the part, if youre a thief play like a thief , use stealth, steal etc thus its called ROLE PLAYING. oblivion pointed that part out and everything about that game is just brilliant. give it a try again but this time play it with an open mind. anyway i love rpgs from old school to present, a good game is a good game either japanese or american doesnt matter.

  • williamwu1985

    Posted Jan 16, 2007 10:39 pm GMT

shut up, all american players understand nothing about RPG, they even call oblivion the best RPG, what a joke, it will not even count as a RPG. do you have any idea what a RPG look like and how it played? it all about leveling up and geting stronger. when i play oblivion for 10 min, i feel that again this is another crap. end up returned the game, some website like gametrailer even say FF12 is one the the worth RPG of 2006. WTF!!! if you dont play 1 RPG every two game, you have no right to say this is sucks.

They were making mediocre games at best, then some fool let them get ahold of Tenchu and they ruined it... no thanks. And... I'd advise all gamers to stay far far away from anything made or published by From Software.

I had to return this thing back to gamefly. If I had to listen to that princess yell "Atsuma" one more time in that awful valley-girl voice I was gonna lose it. And no, the Japanese audio wasn't much better.

    Wow. Great.

Don't get me wrong, the game wasn't bad- I got quite into it by the end- but it was nothing special, just a very run-of-the-mill RPG with some neat ideas that weren't executed terribly well.

LOL!! if this is how the "technological wonder" that is bluray pays off, letting you play mediocre games in 2 languages, then sign me up!

"But you see often enough those terrible shooters do rather well. As do the terrible party games, budget considered. Attach a liscence to it like Jaws or Godfather or Scarface and it can be groingrabbingly bad..."

Another one: The so-called "Happy Feet" = "Unhappy, Gut-wrenchingly Feet!"

But Other reviewers have rated Scarface well. Probably you're just focusing on Gamespot's rather harsh nature...

Why should we be the least bit excited about a mediocre game?

"It's like trying to release a mediocre FPS on the 360, or a shoddy party-game on the Wii..."

But you see often enough those terrible shooters do rather well. As do the terrible party games, budget considered. Attach a liscence to it like Jaws or Godfather or Scarface and it can be groingrabbingly bad, but if its for the right console(the console with gamers who 'love' specific genres) it'll sell well. Certainly better than a fresh idea would. So this game will do rather well. It looks good and, as an N64 owner back in the day, I can attest to the fact that when a system has barely any games on it, you're more willing to try the stuff you'd normally pass on. This is sort of the "Quest" or "Glover" of PS3, a peice of **** that everyone will buy cus there's nothing else.

"who cares about achievement points? and that stupid market place points i hate that...stupid system in my opinion"

I figured that's what the "Enchant Arm" thing that's been in the listings was. And I think it's actually kind of smart. Nobody is going to see 1000 microsoft points and do the math to figure out how much that is in real terms. They're just trying to trick people into spending more money than they otherwise would have for a very limited license.

Enchanted Arms is not a bad game. It is a solid 7. For those that like JRPGs, it is a decent game. The main problem is that the vast majority of cutscenes look like placeholders. However, the character design and graphics are excellent. The clothing physics is pretty cool. Finally, the battle system is great.

I purchased this game for the 360 the day it came out and it was a huge mistake. The game is not even worth $20. A message for all you PS3 owners: Don't even rent this game.

"We're releasing a mediocre game on a platform that is *known* for solid RPGs... we're optimistic like that"

no... seriously - when you release Enchanted Arms on the 360 it's like "alright a JRPG" - when you release it on the PS3 it's like "umm... you know we've got Final Fantasy right?"

It's like trying to release a mediocre FPS on the 360, or a shoddy party-game on the Wii...

I really wanted to see how this game is, liking all Japanese RPGs and action games. Hope it`s not the total rubish everyone claims...though who am I kidding?
Well, there`s only one way to find out.
