Not one of the better racing games you could choose from but still fun..
First off since this game is suppose to be focused around having a story, they really didn't try at all to make things very interesting. There is about one cutscene at the beginning and a few sparsley scattered throughout the game and one at the end.. The characters say nothing interesting at all, the most is you gotta make it to rank 150, or 50 by a certain city.. They got a fairly well known actress smoking hot christina hendricks.. The character model looks pretty good but it seems as if they hired the voice actors for about 15 minutes to do there lines and then they were done.. That aside the game is quite a bit of fun to play albiet extremely frustrating at points.. I had to change the difficulty of easy since it seemed like the games rival drivers were cheating when it came to winning a race.. Even on easy the game does put up quite a challenge and is an intense and adrenilne fueling experience.. I always found myself moving my entire body when playing the game and would curse and get pissed off when I crashed or would lose a race.. One things for sure you cannot knock this game for presentation of graphics, it looks absolutely beautiful racing down a highway in this game.. The sound effects and music are the same thing, absolutely fantastic with licensed music and of course the sound effects in NFS games are always great.. One thing I really liked about the game is the cross country theme starting in California and ending up in New york.. You know where your headed to and have a fixed objective for the end of the game and along the way there are a few different styles of races from mainly getting first place in a group of 4-8 cars, overtaking 3 cars by maintaining a lead for a period of time, checkpoint races to make up time, and one on one races.. At some points there are on foot chases from the cops which involve quick time events.. I actually kindof like qte in small doses so it didn't bother me but it definatley will some.. But although the game is fun for a rent you can do much better with other NFS or even other racing games.. I really wished they had actually put effort into the characters and the story and this would of been a much better game.. Of course there is a multiplayer mode and challenge races to complete as well.. Overall this is worth a rent and worth playing but it did disappoint me..
