Believe it, it's another Naruto game, and another review on a Naruto game!!!

User Rating: 5.5 | Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles PS2
Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles is about a boy named Naruto Uzumaki, hence the title duh!!! The story follows him and his adventures through the wonderful world of Disney, I mean Land of Fire; one of the Five Great Shinobi Nations. His adventures within this game have nothing to do with the actual TV series, and it doesn't match the caliber of any of the Naruto episodes. The story is…..how can I plainly say it? Dull. You can easily see that the developers tried to incorporate some of the Naruto episodes into the game while putting their own twist to it, but in the end it all turned out like crap. Not the smooth and silky kind of crap either; it was more like rough and chunky. You know what I mean?

"I'm Naruto Uzumaki believe it, and I like to fight Ninja believe it, and all my awesome combat moves quickly becomes repetitive believe it" says the annoying ninja in the orange jump suit who calls himself Naruto. The annoying ninja is 100% correct believe it or not. In Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles you mainly button mash your way through numerous encounters of terribly voiced enemies. The fighting isn't necessarily bad; it just gets repetitive very fast. Unlike any of the God of War games out there, the combo attacks look very sloppy and are just horrid. He does the same 4-hit combo animation every single time!!! Even a jar full of butter has more movements then this ninja. Sure you have special moves, and you can summon your allies, but that doesn't make the game any more exciting now does it? There are also mini-games, or should I say mini game, in Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles, but at this point of the review mini-games can't save this game.

Wow, I've said some pretty bad things to Naruto so far, can it possibly get any worse? The answer is YES! Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles is downright ugly. All the characters retain the same facial expressions, and their mouths move up and down like a person having a seizure. If I were to look up ugly in the dictionary, Naruto's picture would be right next to the word. The actual levels in the game all look exactly the same. When you run around a level you can easily get lost, why? Cus every wall, every ceiling, every enemy you encounter look exactly the SAME!!! How do you know if you've been to this area, oh I remember, that wall is shifted 20 degrees to the right more than that other wall on the previous floor!! AGGGHHHHH!!!! The least the developers could have done is put up random paintings on the dungeons or something, sheesh…

The sound design in the game is……if you guessed terrible, ding ding ding, you are correct!!! The voice acting is pretty bad. With cheesy one-liners, and terrible dialogue to boot, what can you expect? The in-game music is hardly noticeable, or exciting. The overall sound feels like it's been muted, or toned down, or something!!! Next to One Piece Grand Adventure (I have a review on that by the way), Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles has terrible sound quality.

Overall: Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles is just your average button masher, whoa wait let me take that back, it's your LESS than average button masher. Now I don't want to sound like a hater or anything, but then again my review was mostly made up of complaints. I don't have anything against the show, I even enjoy watching it myself, but a game with this many problems just doesn't cut it. I know Naruto games are usually destined to be bad, but THIS!!! C'mon Naruto get your act together!!!
