Good game most of the time but if you are not a naruto fan than you'll hate this game PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW ITLL HELP

User Rating: 6.8 | Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles PS2
When I first turned on this game and stared playing it I loved it, but once you actually start getting into the story mode and the missions, it gets EXTREMELY repetitive ( the same thing happens over and over.) for example you start out training with your sensei none other than kakashi, the copy ninja. once your done training you start getting basic missions like delivering goods, or defeating a band of thieves, but the sad part is, is that it happens over and over and over again. I think that there's about 4 or 5 of the same type of mission except they get harder. some of them are so hard that its nearly impossible to beat... oh well, I'll just restart. Too bad! you cannot restart missions even if you fail them!!! when I found this out after playing it was so mad that I almost broke the game in half. Some of the missions you can restart bt its not how you think... you'll be left flat out with a huge GAME OVER in your face and to restart you have to go back to your last save point. The "missions" in this game are based off like the real naruto series... a D-rank mission is the easiest, C-rank mission a little harder and so on and so forth. the bad thing about these missions is that the difficulty doesnt really match its dscription for instance. some D-Rank missions are actually harder than the A-rank missions!! some D-rank missions have you protect goods and there's so many enemies that its nearly impossible to do while an A-rank misssion may be longer, but not harder... The storyline is rather disappointing in this game also. ****Spoilers****
The story is about Orochimaru doing experiments on civilians for a new jutsu that he's trying to create. The bad thing about the story line is that it starts diveloping in the last 3/4 of the game or so... so nearly the whole game your doing useless missions that have NOTHING to do with the story line.

I know this review is long lol but this part is the part that speaks the most truth so bare with me here. How the traveling system works really sucks... no offense bandai... its one large map that has little dots that you travel to by clicking them with your little kunai (you cannot free roam) this really sucks because its soooo boring if youve ever played Dragonball Z Budokai 2, than youve seen the map before. You're traveling naruto walks about 3 miles an hour and if you're lucky (not really cause this is one of he worst parts) aband of thieves will come out and attack you and you get to fight them. at first this system is fun but than you realize "WTF!!?! THIS IS JUST LIKE POKEMON!!!" lol it is lik pokemon because youll run into thieves and get into a battle

Now for the fighting. this is probably one of the only good parts about this game. the fighting is actually really fun... althought naruto has only about 3 huge combos, unleashing your 4 shadow clones on one enemy is seriously fun to watch. You only have 5 special abilities throughout the game though... There's shadow clones. Power Strike A.K.A Rasengaan.
Uzamaki Barrage, and my personal favorite... unleashing the 9-tails fox. unleashing the fox in naruto is th coolest thing about this game... when your chakra goes up and naruto starts getting hurt you can unleash the demon in naruto... you become insanely fast and you will automatically unleash clones without having to use chakra, that use shadow clones lol shadow clones usin shadow clones... cool. The Power Strike is naruto just using rasengaan... which is an extreme amount of chakra energy being plunged into an enemies face basically, The last thing is th allies. Yes, you can use gaara and kakashi but only when you beat the game and when your on certain missions. You can be Sasuke, Neji, Shikamaru, Kakashi and choji during the story mode but you cannot pick kakashi, he'll be used automatically in certain missions. its fun to be different characters other than naruto but it sucks that its timed and that they dont have health (i prefer neji) the cool thing about the allies is that they use stamina instead of chakra so yes, they have unlimited special, but if you use their specials to much than their stamina will go down

Overall if you're a naruto fan than you will like this game and should probably check it out (rent it). If you dont like naruto or dont even know what it is than you'll despise this game because there is more bad in it than there is good. If another game comes out it will sure be better... I hope
