I haven't played a Naruto game in a while so I was glad to play this one.

I used to watch Naruto when I was in high school and after I graduated. Years passed and I stopped watching it. Fillers showed and later on, Shippuden came out. The story line is based on Shippuden and there's a lot of great stuff. What makes this game so great is the cinematic fight sequences with the quick timer events. (famous in Shenmue and God of War). The story mode is pretty slow as you control a character around an environment such as Konoha (Hidden Leaf Village) or some other place. I would rather just get on with the fights. Fortunately there's Japanese voice options and since I used to watch the series in Japanese, that's a plus for me. I don't like the series in English-dub, much less on Disney XD (where they show Naruto Shippuden). Every fight is amazingly epic in so many ways. My jaw literally dropped in certain sequences. The fights that really made the game so great was the second fight with Naruto and Sasuke, Sasuke and Itachi, Jiraiya and Pain, and Naruto and Pain. For people who watched the anime, they know Naruto has the 9-tailed fox (Kyuubi) form inside of him and when it gets unleashed, all hell breaks loose. Well, in Shippuden, you have to see it. I haven't actually watched Shippuden other than the first 2 or 3 episodes so I missed out on a lot. I didn't know Yamato inherited Shodaime Hokage's DNA (First Hokage). I didn't know Jiraiya had a Sage Mode. I didn't know Naruto learned a Sage form. I didn't know Yondaime aka Minato (Fourth Hokage) was the father of Naruto. Another plus for this is that Naruto stopped his English catch phrase of "Believe it!!" I couldn't stand that... The story of Shippuden is basically focused around the Akatsuki. We met Itachi and Kisame but there were more. I didn't know there was a leader named Pain. I remember Deidara and Sasori and that Gaara became Kazekage. One thing pretty funny in this game is that Lars Alexandersson from Tekken 6 is in this game. Well, I heard that the creator of Naruto originally designed an outfit for Lars and that outfit of his is in Tekken 6. The only reason I enjoyed this game is because it's based on an old favorite anime of mine and this game would appeal more to fans of the series. I just loved the fight sequences and some of the cutscenes can be very dramatic. This may not a game everyone will like but this is a game done right. It's a game that shows players what Naruto is all about. (minus the crude humor and stupid behavior) I spent hours on this game and even though I fell asleep a couple of times, I knew I had to finish. That is my ninja way.
