Shippuuden is on the PSP! Unfortunately it doesn't live up to the hype.,

User Rating: 6.5 | Naruto Shippuden: Legends: Akatsuki Rising PSP
Wow, it's finally here. Naruto Shippuuden has stormed onto PSP after a long anticipated wait. I couldn't wait until I got this game, but unfortunately it is a total let down. Honestly, the reason I'm not giving this a rating under 5 is because I like the series. If it were any other characters, I wouldn't gotten rid of and forgotten about this game.

Pros - A 3D environment, freeroam story mode, play with a leader and comrades, semi-accurate storyline and probably my most liked feature in the game... you can change between English and Japanese voices :D (english voices are crap anyway)

Cons - Annoying camera, not easy to change view, 1 set of combos per character, veryyy repetitive, sometimes lacking sense*, choppy gfx.

And when I say 'lacking sense' I mean like sometimes, you will have to get to Deidara in the sand and try to rescue Gaara, and on your way you will have to casually fight random rogue ninja for no apparent reason, and sometimes fight monkeys, bulls and wasps or bees or some crap. It really has nothing to do with anything and is almost like the old Uzumaki Chronicles on Ps2, which I actually think is better than this game.

Gameplay -
Being blunt here, the gameplay is awful. You tap attack 3 times and it does the same 3 hit combo everytime, there is nothing new. It becomes a bother when your in an open field and you have to get past 10 rogue ninja and all you do is tap attack. Sure, you can use Ninjutsu but that's not really fun, as moves like the Rasengan and Rikiri can easily miss.
If you stand still in the middle of a field and spam the square button, you'll defeat them all. It's seems as though any button you press at the right time when the enemy attacks will transport you behind them, so by tapping attack like crazy, youll dodge all their attacks and eventually kill them. BORING.

Boss's
Not really boss's, but people like Deidara and Sasori and is really bland. You just have to run up to them, do a 3-hit combo and back off. Rinse and repeat. They'll be dead in no time.

OVERALL
This game is a decent game, and I would recommend it for a Naruto fan. I still play it sometimes only because it's the only Naruto Shippuuden game that I have (apart from Accel 2 old). If you haven't watched Naruto and are looking for a decent fighting game, this will not be it. Try Bleach: Heat the Soul 6.
