Is it me, or are the people at EA anti-social?

User Rating: 6.5 | MySims WII
MySims was EA's first attempt to bring the Sims franchise to the Wii.

The story is about how you were called to this town by Mayor Rosalyn. The town used to be this lively place, thanks to this person who had the ability to use Essences. However, he dissapeared, and now the town is practically dead. Sims are moving away. However, YOU have the ability to use essences as well.

Basically the game revolves around building furniture and buildings for other Sims. The Sims give you a mission to do, which involve building something for them using different essences. There are a lot of different essences, and they are found with different methods. Some are found on trees, some are found mining, and some are found fishing. That's right, you can use fish as paint.

When you build furniture, you have a blueprint. To be able to place the furniture, you have to build on the sparkles. You don't have to copy the exact blueprint, just build on the sparkles to finish. You can place the essences on the furniture or around it. You can also paint the furniture with generic colors or your essences. Painting with essences is a main part to completing objectives.

The graphics are great. They are very colorful. There was slowdown during day-night transition, but it's not too bad.

The controls work good as well. You use the Wiimote-Nunchuk combo for this game. They are simple, so I won't explain.

There were downsides to this game. One major thing were the LOADING SCREENS! Everytime you walk into a building, everytime you go into a building mode, THERE ARE SO MANY LOADING SCREENS! .

THE VERDICT!

Overall, MySims is a decent addition to this new franchise. It may be repetitive for some, but I found it to grow on me, and it might on you. You might want to rent it first, and if you like it while you rent it, buy it.
