Good MLB title for the PSP

User Rating: 8.4 | MLB PSP
Just got my PSP today, and MLB was the first game I got for it. Though it has its flaws, it is still a great MLB game.

Gameplay: The controls fit very well to the PSP version of MLB. You have the options of stealing and picking off, and you can intentionally throw out players, but these things are in every baseball game out there. Its nothing amazing but they work and feel good on the PSP. 8/10

Graphics: Very well done. The player models look like they should though at times the player jerseys will have the name on them but next at bat will not, but thats just one glitch. The stadiums look very good as well and are the actual stadiums of the teams. There is an occasional framerate problem, but its not enough to gripe about. 9/10

Sound: There is full audio commentary and crowd sounds(though no chants) the only major problem I had with the sound is that occasionaly the commentary is very late. Twice so far the announcer has said my player is out and barely made the throw after the player had already walked away and I was ready to bat. That is my only problem though, but its a major bug and is annoying and that why sound gets a 8/10.

Value: With the lack of any franchise mode or mini games theres not much to be had. Though there is quick play, season, and manager mode, it seems like there should be more to it. But the season mode has a 164 game max and 14 minimum to it so the season mode can definitly hold you attention for awhile. 8/10

Closing Comments: SCEA and 989 did a great job with their first MLB game for the PSP. It has minor bugs and gltiches but not enough to spoil the fun. Even though there is not a franchise mode or mini games and only a seasin mode, this is still a must buy for any baseball fan. And if your stuck between buying this and MVP for PSP get MLB not MVP becuae MVP has way more problems than MLB.
