A game unlike any other

For such an old game, Mischief Makers is as addicting as most modern games today. It plays like an action feature, but the interesting puzzles and storyline make it almost like a puzzle/action RPG. The control scheme is very inspired (no melee weapons and few guns, just your awesome awesome robot hands) and makes the battles lots of fun. But the challenge is not in defeating enemies (most non-boss monsters are pushovers) but the various puzzles setup throughout the game, not to mention collecting those golden crystals you need in order to view the secret ending, are where you spend most of your gaming time. Towards the end of the game, the story remains as wacky and cool as it is in the rest of the game, but gets a little hard to follow. Boss battles are the best part, with specialized graphics and transformer-esque stages of combat.
All in all, Mischief Makers is a classic, combining an interesting style of anime with a surrealistic sort of futreworld. Mischief Makers most certainly deserves to be remembered if not continued...
