Tough Boys

User Rating: 10 | Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! NES
One of my favorate generes of video games are one on one fighting game. This game was the first and still one of my all time favorates. There really isn't much for me to say that already hasn't been said by any other person that loves this game.

One of the things I've always love were the animation and uniqueness of the opponents, each of them had unique characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. As well as intimidating sometimes scary looking, much like two of the villians in Rocky 3 and 4 "Clubber Lang" and "Ivan Draco" those opponents could outdo those two these guys in the game are bullies. Three of the most memorable are Bald Bull, Macho Man both of them I could beat but at times I have a heck of a time with them due to the limited amount of time to beat them. But their just warm ups compared to the final villian Mike Tyson (a.k.a. Mr. Dream) he really doesn't disapoint there is no doubt he is one of the toughest bosses in video game history the fact one power punch he delivers if you don't dodge on time will drain your health completely, man that doesn't seem fair but bad guys don't always play fair. So, your litterally all the time in a "David and Golith" battle.

But the game is always gratifing, because all these intimidating opponents are all actually simple to beat they just don't seem that way at first. It's only when you learn their attack patterns then you can actually take them all down easily, when you hit them at the right moment and time. It's just a great feeling seeing the animation of the punches I deliver to the opponents which makes the pain their all in seem somewhat comical but all the more gratifiying for me cause I'm not the one getting hit I'm the one delivering the pain. And this great feeling is increased once I knock that giant opponent down, oh how the mighty have fallen.

As the old saying goes, when the going gets tough the tough get going. When you play this game and knock those opponents down on the ground you feel tough inside, which is why this game is still one of my all time favorate video games ever and I'm sure it will be still going on strong and tough for generations to come.
