Solid game mechanics with a few truly unique gameplay elements. Some random luck issues though.
There are some faults though:
1. Both your initial troops in a battle and your reinforcement troops are random. You can choose what general types of troops you'll get, but how many of each troop-type is random. Needless to say this random element greatly effects the battle outcome. Some old school strategy players will not like this, so you have been warned!
2. The quasi-anime look of the game is annoying and doesnt add anything to the game. Why use anime in a game that was not even designed by Japanese game designers? You can skip the cutscenes if you like and my hunch is that is exactly what many folks will do when confronted with yet another cutscene of big-headed kids saying things like "oh no demons!"
