BEAUTIFUL side scroller. I never really was a fan of metal slug games. The first time i saw one was at a fair in my church!!!! there was a huge line to play it though since u needed NO QUARTERS!!!! I dont remember which it was but in the end it had a paper airplane hit someones eye :-D. anyway on to the review The graphics are AMAZING and unique. Most people think good graphics is photorealistic stuff (not that it isnt)but this is very unique. 2D animation is awsome. My favorite animation thing would be when you get the driller slug or whatever and you drill through those massive slugs and their guys fall out. beautfiul. This game definatley requires you to master it to beat it, so its not increidbly easy and makes it have a nice amount of value. Sound is pretty good, just not Shadow ops red mercury or call of duty good. Main downside to this game: Pretty damn hard. i just CANNOT beat the fifth level. Its like IMPOSSIBLE! if anyone has some big tips or something please AIM me at blackeagle242 or email at gunnermg42@yahoo.com. i really want to beat that level! and for those of you who have been looking at it for awhile beforehand they said that they were considering actual online play. instead they just put up scoreboards...which sucks in my opinion. I was hoping to take it online with up to 4 people and kick ass! they there might have been cool special missions or something. They did add the Fat island and assault on UFO ship missions which are a very nice touch. and the thought that they turned it down for PS2 thinking people wouldnt play an "old" game and then it becoming a hit and trend on the xbox is nice. Im gonna say what gamespot says... if your up for a challenge or old style games go for it. if not then steer clear. I am up for the challenge, if only i had a friend that was actually GOOD at the game playing with me :-).
