Fun game to all mgs fans but not perfect.
Gameplay 9/10
The gameplay of course is fantastic the same has past mgs but added a new type of aiming system where you see them over the shoulder and shoot like in gears of war or resident evil 4. Many would dislike or like the new add on but i kinda like it and kinda dont. To people new to this game you could play stealth in the beginning or just go all out rambo on them (which i consider a good addition to draw in more gamers). But for most people if u dont like how mgs plays its a rent first if u think the gameplay is weird. There are plenty of guns in the game and now you could modify some weapons like putting scopes to silencers so the enemy wont hear you guns which is a major plus for me. The game has some replayability like beating the game under a certain time to get a mask to gettting money to buy guns from a gun sells man which is expensive.
Story 8/10
NO SPOILERS but the story is kinda disappointing to many and good to others. The story is still good compared to other games with no good story line at all like killzone 2. The only down side to the new players is that the story would be confusing to many due to not playing the past mgs games. And to the people who did play the past mgs games some will get confused like in your mind u would be saying when did this happen, how did this happen, etc. The story is kinda short if u play for a long time and they should have made it longer somehow. The downside is that this game has a lot of cut scenes like half the game is cut scenes. Which is a lot. This is y people new to this game should rent b/c the cut scenes answers questions from past mgs games.
Online 9/10
I gave it a 9 b/c the new type of aiming system over the back one (3rd person shooting) makes it kinda weird. Weird like u barely need to use the first person view and how its easy to shoot other in the head using 3rd person shooting thing. Now the online is fun b/c u could play up to 16 which isnt a lot and is a good thing b/c putting many would ruin the game. There are plenty of guns in the game and has a lot of modes to play from which is fun. Now you have like perks like cod4 like aiming better with assault rifles and you lvl up those perks and makes it better.
Overalll this game is a must have to mgs fans and a rental to first timers to the mgs series and an example of a ps3 exclusive. This game is fun and has a lot of replayabililty and the online is really fun. If u ever played mgs3 subsistance online u will like mgs4 online. But if u dont have interent this game is still great to buy even if u dont have online. To end this review this game is probably the best game of the decade, enough said.
