Review: Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty

Metal Gear for the NES was the first game, to feature sneaking as a game mechanic; Metal Gear Solid was the first 3D stealth game. And Metal Gear Solid 2 is the continuing story of Solid Snake and introduces a new character Raiden to the series.

Story:
After the events of the first game, Metal Gear technology found it's way to the world market due in part to Revolver Ocelot's (Revolver Ocelot is the first boss in the first MGS game) selling it on the black market. Solid Snake now a member of an Anti Metal Gear foundation, is sent in to investigate a mysterious new Metal Gear created by the US Marines and being sent to an undisclosed testing location

Graphics:
The graphics are really good still some of the best on the PS2 even after 4 years every detail is thought of and you can literally use anything to achieve your goal each stage is big and expansive and lend themselves to exploration, and using different techniques to achieve your goals

Music:
Series wise Metal Gear has always had excellent Music and sound and Metal Gear Solid 2 is no exception, with a musical score composed by Harry Gregson-Williams whom provided musical scores for movies like Armageddon, The Rock, and Enemy of the State. Excellent music the sounds are dead on when you do anything you hear it at the action's ambient volume.

Control:
The control is easy to pick up and learn, and very familiar for those whom played Metal Gear Solid, with a few new tricks and to learn and master, but everything handles silky smooth and is easy to use, and the new tricks add to the game play rather than hinder it.

Game play: Metal Gear Solid is just as fun to pick up and play as it's predecessor, and to add a bit more difficulty to it the enemies are smarter, and more capable than ever forcing you to keep on your feet to stay ahead of your enemies.

Design:
The design is immense and very well planned, the game reeks of having been heavily planned and some of the best game design I have seen, each character is unique to the point that you actually start to care about their story, and their lives, which says a lot considering that most of them are your enemies. However I am really getting tired of overly effeminate males being in my games and that may be why Raiden is the only character in the game that I don't particularly care for, still despite Raiden, MGS2 is still too good of a game for you not to love the work, and care put into this game.

Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty, is a must play, if you own a PS2 you must play this game if you haven't already, It should be Known that I Reviewed the Original Game for the PS2, but you can now get a special edition called Metal Gear Solid Substance for your PS2 and Xbox, personally I don't care for the Xbox versions controls (I rented the Xbox Version of MGS: S), so stick to the PS2 versions of Metal Gear Solid 2 if you can.

Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty:

Pros:
Top Notch Music, Sound, Graphics, and Design
Solid snake is still one of the coolest characters in gaming

Cons:
Raiden is in this game
