One of the best third-person shooters out there.

Mercenaries is a third- person shooter that takes place in modern day North Korea. You play as one of three mercenaries and the main goal is to overthrow the North Korean regime. Throughout the game, you can be hired by different factions: Allied forces, Russian mafia, China, and South Korea, and you use any means necessary to accomplish the mission, that includes calling in airstrikes or artillary barrages. Whats pretty cool is that you can call in an airstrike or artillary barrage at any location you want, so if you want an entire city destroyed, you can do that. It is called "Playground of Destruction" after all. The game has so much freedoms. You can go were ever you want or blow up what ever you want. If there is a vehicle nearby, you can hijack it, whether its tanks, civilian vehicles, humvees, jeeps, APCs, or even helicopters, you can hijack them all. The graphics look great, Im impressed at the realism of war torn cities and destroyed buildings and cars and the gameplay is good enough to keep the player busy for awhile. The sound effects are awesome, especially the explosions. The downside is that there is no form of multiplayer and there are some glitches. I would sometimes get stuck in a rock or tree but, the gameplay and the action make up for this problem. I highly recommend it to anybody who likes third-person shooters, likes war, or a person who just likes to blow stuff up.
