MegaMan 2: The Power Fighters is a far superior arcade game to its predecessor, although it is extremely easy to beat

After the first MegaMan arcade game was released in 1995, Capcom releases the sequel to the popular shoot-em-up one later to a lot of rave reviews.

Power Fighters kept a lot of what made the first game good, while adding newer features such as exclusive attacks (MegaMan's "Dragon Punch", ProtoMan's "Haduoken" and Bass's "Somersault" Kick) and power-ups to aid you along the way, thus making a pretty successful sequel in the process.

You play as either MegaMan, ProtoMan, Bass or newcomer Duo (from MegaMan 8), fight your way through 6 robot masters from all 7 MegaMan games on the NES and SNES from 3 particular scenarios, defeatthem and the sub-boss of the scenario before fighting Dr. Wily for the final showdown. And you can also have a friend join you to take care of Wily's robots. Much like all MegaMan games, defeating a robot master earns you his weapon (which comes in the form of a blue orb that falls within the middle of the screen). However in 2P mode, the first player to obtain the orb gets the weapon so you'll have to be quick in order to get an upper hand on the robots.

Still, even with their weakness, the game is incredibly easy and each scenario can be beaten with just the normal weapon alone within 15 minutes. The only real challenge is beating the game in one-go without using a continue simply because the final 2 bosses (the scenario boss and Dr. Wily) are rather tough, though still easy to take down.

As easy as this game is, that doesn't dampen it from being a fun shoot-em-up style arcade game which would easily provide fans of MegaMan a few minutes of fun in the process.
