Okay. I remember sorta predicting what this game was going to be like 3 months ago when I reviewed Arma:Operation Arrowhead.
We all agree that this is a MOH reboot. Perhaps it was designed to openly compete with the upcoming Black Ops.
And not all of us will agree that this is a MOH reboot gone wrong, Medal of Horror?
Or maybe it's us, the PC gamers, that are left disapointed yet again, at least most of us.
Because we've been handed yet another dumbed down FPS from the console developers from upstairs. Why thank you very much.

I loved MOH Airborne. It had an awesome single player campaign, though short, which featured great weapon customization toward which you had to work for as well as numerous paths to achieving your different objectives, the multiplayer is also pretty balanced where you don't have to die every 10 seconds. Plus, every time you beat the game, you could discover a new shortcut that would enable you to complete your various objectives faster and more efficiently. The graphics were also great and inspired. I think that it was the last great World War 2 Shooter. I am not even mentioning the daddy of all shooters (Doom being the granddaddy) - Medal of Honor:Allied Assault. But this game is a different story. Or rather, it's the same "been there" done that story.

Pros:

There's no infinite spawn of enemies (ahem...Call of duty...ahem...Modern Warfare...ahem) - so you can actually take your time to pick off the enemies. But you don't really have to do that since half the enemies you are facing will expose themselves from behind the cover.

The sound is great. Try turning off the music for maximum immersion and try shooting your gun in a confined space and hear the echo of your gun and the bouncing sound of your ricochet bullets. That's pretty neat. Plus, they're using real guns to record the gun sound in the game.

Overall, I found the campaign more realistic that MW and MW2.
Because the story isn't out of control and the enemies aren't spawning infinitely.

The night vision has been pulled off pretty well.

Great realistic recoil from a hand gun.

The knife kills can be satisfying - though there is this sorta automatic "rush" towards the enemy once you try to knife someone (making it easier for the console boys)

There is some room for flanking your enemies in both single player and multiplayer, and what I mean by "some room" is an just-one-alternate-right-there-flanking of the enemy. But at least it's something to work with.

I did enjoy looking at the distant vistas in the background and I did enjoy the graphics for the most part, but overall, the graphics are nothing special.

Constant military radio chatter adds to the immersion.

There's a new run and dash for cover system now. I think it's well implemented. It's not really needed that much in single player, since the campaign is easy, but it can buy you an extra amount of seconds of life in multiplayer.

The multiplayer is okay-ish. I'm pretty sure the multipayer is going to be empty for the most part when Black Ops comes out. The level of perks and customization aren't comparable with MW2 or MW for that matter. I did find the city-like kind of maps more enjoyable to play since there isn't too much room for sniping from afar, unlike in other elongated maps.

Cons:
You play as multiple mute characters throughout the story - little to no background story.

The characters you play have no legs (only about 5-10% of shooters out there bother to place the legs of the character you're playing to remind you that you are actually playing as a person)

The character you play casts no shadow (ooo... spooky)

The explosions, even though could cause a temporary concussion, aren't flashy enough to leave an impression. The grenades you use cause a minor explosion and the resulting dust will evaporate pretty quickly.

No destructible environments, unlike in Battlefield Bad Company.

Incredible weapon auto aim. I found it more prevalent in the single player mode though

The most prevalent bug in this game is when one of your teammates runs into a wall which prevents you from getting to the next checkpoint - but sometimes that could be rectified by unloading a few rounds into him to dislodge him from the wall to put him on the righteous path, fun isn't it?

INFINITE AMMO FOR THE HAND GUN

No ability to turn off the cross hair for maximum immersion. After all, it is much easier to pull off a headshot using a mouse, rather than a joystick. So this simple feature is gone. Not only that, a stupid icon with a bullet going through somebody's brain is gonna pop up WHENEVER you score a headshot on the enemy.

Virtually unlimited ammo in Single Player mode. Now you can ask your buddies for ammo. I was playing the game on the Hardest difficulty when I asked for the ammo for my PKM machine gun and got 1000 rounds. I kid you not, that's pretty realistic, isn't it?

This is an extremely linear game that forces the linear path down your pants. Heck, you can't even go back and run around the level once you reach certain checkpoints - since the invisible air wall will prevent you from doing so.

There's the non-existing recoil from a 100 round machine gun, while a simple hand gun enjoys a great realistic recoil.
The campaign is extremely easy. There's only 3 difficulty modes, and I can count on my fingers the amount of times I died during the campaign.

The anti-aliasing is terrible. Rather it's nonexistent. Even when I override anti-aliasing mode and bump it up to 32x on my GTX 480 I STILL get jaggies all over the place.

There are some bugs there and there, like the friendly and enemy AI running into the walls. There's also a spot where the friendly Afghanis fire at the Taliban, wherein the scathed Taliban fighters simply re-appear at the same spot. So there ARE infinitely spawning enemies, but at least the developers didn't pit that problem against you.

The interaction between the characters is extremely professional (which might be a good thing), but there's little to no room for witty jokes, camaraderie and memorable moments - like in Battlefield 2:BC.

The overall campaign, even though a more realistic one than in MW and MW2, did not really strike me as something that is going on right now. The Taliban does not fight an open war with the US troops, we all know that; they simply don't have enough resources or man-power. This is an un-winnable guerrilla war spawned by American imperialist capitalism and meddling in the Mid East since 1940's. Thus, I would have settled down for a more intense - try to seek out the enemy strongholds- and hard to kill the enemy - type of game - meaning reducing the number of enemies, reducing the amount of ammo you have and making the enemy hard to kill (thus more rewarding)- by making the enemy smarter (Brothers in Arms series anyone?). But I know this is a run and shoot FPS, not the old-school Splinter Cell or something like that, so better luck next time.

Here's how I would attempt to fix the game. I would get rid of the infinite ammo system and make you conserve ammunition; I would reduce the amount of enemies; I would increase the tension of the game since most of the time, based on geography and buildings, you just KNOW when the enemies are gonna start running out; I would get rid of the cross hair and only leave you with the aiming down the sight option; I would increase the recoil of weapons ( to actually make them work like real guns), and finally I would make the campaign more engaging by adding a level of humanity to it, meaning adding more believable conversations and maybe some drama too.

Overall, I'd say save your money. Times's hard now. Buy Fallout:New Vegas instead, or save a $50 or a $60 for Black Ops if you happen to be a fan of that franchise.
