Despite its shortcomings, Frontline's engrossing gameplay and sound make it one of the best WWII shooters on the PS2

User Rating: 9 | Medal of Honor Frontline (Platinum) PS2
Graphics: 8/10
Gameplay: 10/10
Sound: 10/10
Challenge: 8/10
Overall: 9.0/10

+ Tight, challenging gameplay totally sucks you in the first-person shooter experience
+ Amazing soundtrack, with eerie high-pitched notes that keep one constantly pumped
+ Great locales, whether it's a claustrophobic military HQ or pure battlefield action
+ A vast variety of weapons and interesting missions to choose from

- Blood isn't included, resulting in rather unrealistic close-range kills
- Soldiers' lines are rather minimal
- Lack of multiplayer in a game where it would've been most suitable
- Even the 'normal' difficulty is taxing for casual gamers; I had to use cheats for most of the game

Conclusion

Frontline is one of the best games in the Medal of Honor series on the PS2. EA combines amazing gameplay, great locales, and a thrilling soundtrack in Frontline to deliver an experience you won't forget in a while. A good mention I should make is the opening level of the game, the Omaha Beach epic as it unfolds in your very hands; it is one of the most intense moments in Frontline (and hence, the Medal of Honor series) and makes for a cleverly thought-out opening sequence. Frustrations aside, the Omaha Beach sequence is very sincere in its intentions, i.e. to pump you up – an aspect of the game that I admired in many later levels as well. The game's lack of multiplayer is a disappointment, and the difficulty seems suited towards hardcore gamers. Despite these shortcomings, MoH: Frontline is a must-see for those interested in WWII games as well as hardcore FPS gamers.
