Medal of Honor European Assault may be a very short, easy game, but it provides more fun than all the previous games.

EA has always made games about WWII. Some have been good, but some have been terrible. Altogether though, they seem to capture the essence of what happened in WWII. This is the third installment of the series for the consoles (there are many more for PC and older systems). This is the shortest of the three, but it provides more action and fun than the others. The game plays pretty good for a first person shooter for the PS2. Like I mentioned before, the game provides more action and enhanced realism than the previous two games. It also sports some new gameplay additions. This version allows you to peek out of corners like in Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six. This lets you kill enemies while not taking any bullets. It also puts you control of a small squad for each mission. You can give simple commands like engage the enemy, or retreat. This adds a fun new dimension to the game. European Assault also gives you an 'Adrenaline' bar that fills up when you are in action. Once it fills up, you can unleash your fury on the German foes. You instantly become invinsible, your bullets do more damage, you have infinate ammo, and you run slightly faster. This may seem like a great idea, but it makes the game too easy. The levels themselves are already too easy too. On the easy difficulty, you can beat the average mission in about eight minutes. Other than that, the game plays pretty well. The graphics just haven't improved since the other games. They aren't really detailed, and the environments aren't the greatest. I will say though that the special effects are pretty good. But other than that, the graphics are just okay. Ah, my favorite part about Medal of Honor games - the sound. Everything from the music, to voice acting during cutscenes and levels puts you into the shoes of who you're playing as. It adds such a great WWII feel to it, and makes you feel honored just to be playing a WWII game. All in all, this game may be short, but it packs the necessary punch for a WWII game. People who have enjoyed previous MoH games will probably enjoy this one as well.
